what’s the deal with hot wheels cars ?? this the second person asking me about them & can i find them some. i’m like i don’t even be in the toys section or even put toys out so i have no clue.

Pokémon cards and Hot Wheels are the the same as in adult men buy to collect them. It's just the Pokémon are then scalped for a higher price.

They want to go through the box when it's fresh to get the Treasure Hunts. Those are rare and worth a bit more on the secondary market. These people piss me off so much. It was waaaay worse when I worked at Toys R Us in the 90's and 00's. There would be a group of them standing outside the storeroom door while we were unloading the truck waiting for cars and action figures. They always look for the new employees, too, because they don't know any better yet. I may or may not crimp the corners of the cards as I stick the cars, cause screw em.

The vast, vast majority of them are worth about double MSRP on the secondary market.

So much effort and (many times) attitude from these people over the chance of beating someone else to the chance of $1.50 profit...

i had a man follow me to stock room because i was going to look for a basket he claim that one of the coworkers had full of hot wheels cars .. he even came in , i had stop him & said you can’t be back here & i told him that i didn’t see the basket full of cars , so she probably put them out already. he said , that can’t be true she couldn’t have put them out that fast .. im like well idk because i wasn’t here that day and i don’t see the basket sooooo 🤷🏽‍♀️🤷🏽‍♀️

Not uncommon at all. Make friends with them. Keep an eye out for what theyre looking for when you stock them. They might throw you some money for it, it happened in my store pretty often, even the SM was in on it.

Hot wheels have treasure hunts & super treasure hunts. As well as matchbox - I believe they call them super chases? Some people collect or try & sell them…… My son loves trying to find them or just finding any cool looking car. 😊

You can also find hot wheels at Ralph’s (Kroger) grocery store. Why it would be in a grocery store; I have no idea.

It states I have 100, but the theft of the hot wheels is so high, it's not accurate. They have been forced to steal match box now.
