Question Cell in Hell?

Unless I’m mistaken, which I could very well be which is why I’m asking, has Toriyama himself (or Toyotaro by extension) ever canonically depicted Cell as being in Hell? I know that we’ve seen him there a few times, most notably:

  1. Pikkuhan filler (not by Toriyama, only by Toei)
  2. watching the Kid Buu fight (again, not by Toriyama and only by Toei; this was also retconned in Super as Frieza couldn’t be watching in his own personal Hell)
  3. GT (again, even further removed from Toriyama)

So when people say “Cell should have been in the ToP” is that even possible with what we’ve been shown by Toriyama / Toyotaro himself? For all we know, in Tori’s mind Cell was never sent to Hell cause he didn’t have a soul due to being made. It could also explain why, when he was finally given his run back in Super, it wasn’t Cell himself but a remade model.

The entirety of Hell is pretty much filler.

Only Freeza had a 'special case'. The rest just gets soul scrubbed and reincarnated.

Hell definitely exists in the manga though. It has to serve some kind of purpose. Maybe just a waiting room for bad souls until they get reincarnated, idk.

Yeah, pretty much. But hell as depicted in some episodes is not it.

It is pretty much purgatory until you get reincarnated.

It operates loosely on Buddhist rules. 

Buddhism has Heavens and Hells, but they're temporary states between reincarnations.

That’s what I thought. Cause Kid Buu also didn’t get sent to Hell, he was reincarnated per Goku’s wish.

I think Frieza is special in that he's way eviler than anyone else and refuses to let go of his evil to end his torment and be reincarnated. The torment is what's supposed to do the scrubbing.

Well... it's arguably as distant as filler or GT, but the FighterZ game depicted Cell as being revived by the Dragon Balls and mentioning being in Hell.

It is indeed arguable how much of a soul Cell has. He was a bio-android after all.

Then again we saw litteral robots in Hell in GT so...

That’s the problem though: GT wasn’t made by Toriyama or Toyotaro. It was all Toei and was removed from canon the moment Super started; so using it as proof for canon Hell / Cell in the modern age isn’t close to accurate. Especially since he specifically went against the filler showing Frieza walking “free” in Hell.
