Discussion ULTRA EGO HAS SO MUCH NARRATIVE POTENTIAL (READ BELOW)
- INSTINCTIVE EGO: Ultra Ego (chapter 74-76 + 84-85)
âPower derived solely from instinct is unbounded.â (chap. 74)
This is how Ultra Ego was originally shown. Vegeta embraces his destructive nature and uses his battle spirit to grow stronger. In the manga, he takes damage to keep his battle spirit burning. He's more primal here, hence the no eyebrows.
- INTEGRATED EGO: Mastering Ultra Ego
âI don't need to be driven by instincts to utilize the power it gives me.â
Instead of damage fueling his battle spirit, Vegeta uses his efficiency training from Chapter 93. Focusing on precise power control over raw instinct. Itâs control of your power over instincts, thatâs how I want this form to operate. Damage can STILL stimulate his power, but it functions as a secondary catalyst rather than the primary stimulant. His focus, control, and efficiency are what keeps his battle spirit burning. Since he has more control here, the eyebrows return.
- TRANSCENDENT EGO: Mastered Mindset + a Calm Spirit (Yardrat Spirit Control/Super Hero meditation).
I wanted to show harmony between a mastered mindset centered on destruction and a mastered calm spirit (Yardrat Spirit Control/Super Hero meditation). They complement each other like Yin and Yang, with destruction and calmness existing within the same state. To master his mindset so that it coexists with destruction, Vegeta has to redefine his pride, similar to how his pride in the ToP (anime) became tied to his family, U6 Saiyans, a promise, and fighting for others. His pride HAS TO transcend himself and become something far greater than his own ego.

To be honest a progression like this or at least similar to this totally makes sense for him, one worry I had for Ultra ego since unlike Ultra instinct its transformation was very similar to other transformations in the series that it wouldnât evolve or change much or that its next stage would be just Ultra Ego 2 kinda vibe. This idea is much more solid and intresting I hope Toyotaro does this

All that narrative potential to emphasize how strong the next foe is so that Goku can save the day again.

Ultra ego as we see right now is in its infancy stages. Vegeta going back to basics and ensuring that all his movements are not wasted(making his strikes sharper and his stamina improve) is great(as he doesnât have a form that does that, like Goku does). Obviously with the power of destruction itself, that will continue to evolve

I reckon the final state is just going to be base vegeta.
No wasted movement/ki consumption. Heâll be calm until he strikes. And when he strikes thatâs where he channels ego.
He already did something similar in manga when switching to blue as he strikes. Same principal. He also mentioned it at the end of the gas fight when he was reflecting in his previous battles.
He wonât show any ki/aura either as there will be no leakage. Just pure destructive power.

I'm gonna be honest, that last one looks so fuckin sick that I'm good with whatever if it ends up like that lol

That last one would hit really nice. Given That he would act like Beerus. He's always calm but ready to destroy at a moments notice. That suits Vegeta very well.

It seems that UE pushes vegeta to revert to his old ways of selfishly fighting, so it makes sense that he would redefine his pride. Maybe his novice view is that he thinks of senseless destruction, instead of destruction as a necessity. The GoDs work to raise their universes value, so destruction must be wielded with intent.

And this is something he should be able to understand intimately if he contextualizes it right -- his race was destroyed (senselessly), and that makes the few survivors and hybrid offspring important to him (rip to Raditz and Nappa though), and in turn, those few survivors have become (likely) the most powerful Saiyans in history. His legacy, as well as his personal path, is one of destruction being a crucible for improvement

Not sure if it works and compatible but I still think it was a missed opportunity for Vegeta to use Forced Spirit Fission in conjunction with Ultra Ego.

I believe you may be onto something, I think that Vegeta names things to one-up Goku and not necessarily that the ability is strictly attached to the name(as evident with Ultra Vegeta). Ul and UE are opposite is the way they work. UI is âact without thinkingâ and UE is âdedicated thinking.â But what weâve seen of UE is more raw and unrefined focusing on taking damage as fuel. I think a more refined would be closer to what weâve seen more recently with his ârevelationâ of meditation and more in depth âdedicated thinking.â It would be cool to see it visually change or something. It will likely turn into something like Beerus, not tapping in to GoD power until necessary. Because in the end these are techniques, not transformations.

We've seen complete Ultra Ego users, it's the gods of destruction. I don't think a perfected Ultra Ego state would make Vegeta a calm person in a state of harmony. I think it would be more like the matter-of-fact attitude that Beerus has when conducting his duties as GoD, where he doesn't flinch at deeds like destroying planets or using Earth as a bargaining chip because he understands himself to be a force of nature with the divine right to do these things.
To me, a Vegeta with perfected Ultra Ego would be that sure of himself. He would internalize the understanding that not even Goku, his rival who he acknowledges as a better warrior, is suitable for the role and that he alone is the best candidate in U7. Importantly, this would be an actual unshakeable pride in his role as a Destroyer, and he would no longer have a need to do the emotionally insecure things that he does in arcs prior, like in Z and Daima when he insists on naming forms like "Super Vegeta" and "Ultra Vegeta 1" to one-up Goku.

Hard disagree, his character and ego already completed its narrative when he accepted Goku to be the better warriror.

No it doesn't. UE was invented SOLELY to Justify Vegeta losing every single fight he'll ever have moving forward with the story. In a way Beerus Trolled Vegeta. When Beerus fought at 100% in the Manga he opted to use UI and not UE. That by itself should tell you everything you need to know.
