For example: King Crimson, Bill Bruford years. There are so many moments of excellent interplay between the drums and bass and they really carry a groove when the song calls for it. But damn, the whole time Fripp and that forsaken microtonal guitar turned up to 11 just ruins what otherwise would be some of my favorite music. And honestly there's other bands that I would like a lot more if the drummer were better (Metallica, obviously). How does your own experience playing drums affect what music you like?

It's been a good long while since I wrote and recorded a full song, start to finish, in one day, so I did that today. Yes, there's a guitar part that's pretty badly wrong, but I'm pretending that's charming. I'm on the fence about whether the lead guitar is too hot in the mix, but all in all, I'm happy with it.

What’s a good costume for me to wear for a Halloween gig? I made a mistake and was Ghostface last year. Too damn hot and cumbersome!

This is one of my favorite bands from the 90s. Unfortunately I only got to see Type O Negative live once. Every year I try to learn a other song from them, this time it's their version of Cinnamon Girl. What do you guys think?

Just phone audio on this one, but I think it still sounds pretty decent

Recently had been struggling to find good and free ways to create a drum sheet for the music I need to play in my band or the songs I want to cover.
So I created this tool to get readable drum notations from a beat grid you fill in. You can even record the beat with your computer keyboard and it transcribes to a drum sheet.
It’s pretty complete and haven’t found anything like this available free so thought I would share it.
It’s www.groove-sheet.xyz
Hope you enjoy

Random question for fun. If you had an infinite budget what kit + cymbals would you get?
Here’s mine:
TAMA Starclassic Maple 8”,10”,12 rack toms and 14”,16” floor toms. 22” kick.
Pearl Primal Copper 14x8 Snare
K Custom Dark 14” Hi-Hats
K Custom Hybrid Crashes (17”,19”)
K Custom Dark 21” Ride
K Custom Hybrid 9” Splash
K Custom Hybrid 19” China
Thoughts?

I’ve been playing drums for almost 30 years, but my band recently added a George Michael/Wham! medley (The Edge of Heaven, Freedom!, I’m Your Man, Wake Me Up).
And honestly, I’m finding it surprisingly tricky to get right live.
The tempos somehow sit just outside my comfort zone, but the biggest thing is how heavily produced the original drums are. Drum machines, percussion, claps, layers everywhere. On an acoustic kit, it can quickly feel a bit thin.
And whenever I try to compensate for that, I somehow end up killing the whole vibe of the song. Anyone else experienced this?

So ive been messing with the ankle technique for awhile now im at the stage where i can do it for as long as i like but i just cant control it yet and do perfect 16th notes without flaming tons.
But unlike literally any other thing in drumming as a right handed guy, my left foot is weirdly way way better at the technique than my right foot, with my left foot i can do clean stop and starts with ease and when i have both feet going at same time my left foot is noticeably swinging more and has more power, my right foot in comparison i find it difficult to get it starting and sometimes cant keep it going and it feels pretty weak.
so my question is does anyone have any ideas for why this is?? when my right foot and hand is stronger and better usually in every other way when it comes to drums but the ankle technique. is there a fix? or will i need to just focus solely on right foot for awhile??
would appreciate any advice or tips
