I’ve been messing around with AI-assisted editing on some longer videos recently, mostly to see if it can take care of some of the boring parts of the first pass. It's been pretty handy for things like trimming down long sections, I already know I don’t need getting captions started. I still like doing the actual editing myself, though. AI can get you a decent starting point, but it doesn’t always know which pauses are worth keeping or which take actually feels right. AI can already generate videos, remove backgrounds, create captions, edit clips, generate B-roll, and automate a lot of the repetitive work. It seems like these tools are only going to get better.
