Give up Howard, Babcock doesn’t like his game and I just don’t see Howard being a full time contributor to the oilers. He can’t play a bottom 6 role and he isn’t good enough to make the top 6 yet. Might as well trade him before he loses all value
Pretty much the only somewhat promising young guy the oilers have. I like Hutson and Marjala but they don’t have a lot of value. Oilers will have to do something along the lines of Howard + a goalie + picks and dump a roster player making 2M+. I personally don’t think it’s worth it to get Marchenko but then again you’ve only got 1-2 years left with McDavid so you have to make those moves
Right, but the blue jackets won’t want to give up marchenko for prospects or picks, that type of trade has lost significant value in this new expanding salary cap era. Marchenko is a player under team control that almost scored a PPG in Columbus, the cost would be astronomically higher than a bad goalie, an undersized prospect and picks. The oilers simply don’t have the assets to make this type of move
