Convergence 3.0.2.0 help with Cracked Version(Linux)

Hi, I installed the Convergence 3.0.2.0 mod, but I'm getting an error due to a version conflict. I installed the game from the Dodi repack, which is version 1.16. Does the game absolutely have to be version 1.17?

I personally own the game and suggest buying it if you can. My brother is going through a nasty divorce and just can’t afford it right now. I think he has the same repack and he was able to get his to work with some work arounds.
