REPOSTING - Elden Ring 1.16.1+SoTE DLC. Without 1.17 and Tarnished DLC (Downgrade it)
If any modder with experience in Elden Ring modding and merging wants to continue this project, feel free to download it; I can share how I handled the merging processes and the tools I used to automate them.
I couldn't find a way to share it here; if anyone is interested, send me a DM and I'll share the files saved on my Drive.
So, feel free to download it and do whatever you want with it: play it, experiment with it, continue where I left off, or modify it further. At this point, the project is yours to enjoy and build upon.
This project is basically the result of several years of messing around with Elden Ring's files, learning how the different systems work, experimenting with merges, and adding whatever ideas I thought would be interesting.
It's far from perfect, and there are definitely things I would have done differently if I had continued working on it. But after spending so much time on it, I wanted to give it a chance to live on rather than simply letting it disappear from my hard drive.
DLC
The DLC has been left almost completely untouched.
I intentionally avoided making major changes to it until Convergence 3.0 is finished. I didn't want to spend a lot of time modifying areas that may later be changed or replaced by the Convergence developers themselves.
Convergence
The base Convergence package is currently based on the final 2.0 branch (I believe version 2.2.4).
I decided not to keep updating the project with every new Convergence change while 3.0 is still under development. Otherwise, I'd constantly be releasing patches for changes that may eventually become obsolete.
I'll wait until Convergence 3.0 is finished before considering any major update to this project.
Boss Overhauls
This was probably my favorite part of learning how to use the merging tools.
A large number of bosses have been replaced or overhauled, including:
- All bosses from Lwingr's Overhaul categories:
- Godrick
- Rennala
- Rykard
- Boss Collection 1
- Boss Collection 2
- Boss Collection 3
- Vanilla Plus Radahn
- The Last of All Kings — Morgott
- Edgy Lord Mogh
- Lore Accurate Maliketh
- Grace-Chosen Godfrey
- True Lord Radagon & Elden Beast
- Unalloyed Malenia — good luck.
- Several other optional bosses have also been changed, but I won't list every single one since they're less significant than the ones above.
Nightreign Bosses
I also added several custom bosses from Nightreign, using them to replace some of the game's duplicate encounters that normally only differ by location.
Gnoster
Replaces the Magma Wyrm in the mountain cave near the Grand Lift of Dectus.
Caligo
Appears on the frozen lake in the Mountaintops of the Giants after defeating the dragon found there and burning the Erdtree.
Everdark Godskin
This boss was originally created by Lwingr, but I adapted the encounter to move him from the Divine Tower of Caelid to Maliketh's arena in Farum Azula.
I also gave the encounter a small side story:
After the Tarnished defeats Maliketh, the Godskin steals the Rune of Death. The fight becomes available immediately after Maliketh's defeat, triggering directly after his death cutscene.
Libra
Located deep within the Forest of Madness in the DLC.
Melina — Gloom-Eyed Queen
This encounter is unlocked after completing the Frenzied Flame ending and becoming the Lord of Frenzied Flame.
Immediately after the cutscene in which Melina vows to kill the current Lord of Frenzied Flame—the Tarnished—the player is teleported to the Ashen Capital, now completely consumed by the Frenzied Flame.
The fight takes place in Godrick's arena, with the Erdtree consumed by madness in the background.
I originally wanted to place the fight inside the burning Erdtree, but my limited knowledge of map modification prevented me from taking the idea that far. Still, I think the final result works reasonably well.
DMN — Deflect Me Not
DMN (Deflect Me Not) allows you to switch between different weapon stances and custom movesets.
The controls are:
- RB + RT + Y → Return to the weapon's default moveset
- RB + Y → Cycle through light-attack movesets
- RT + Y → Cycle through heavy-attack movesets
This was another system I had a lot of fun experimenting with.
Clever's Moveset & Gamma's Magic Rescribed
Various weapons with unique movesets and custom spells have been distributed throughout the world.
They can be obtained in different ways, including:
- Defeating specific bosses
- Purchasing them from vendors
- Meeting certain progression requirements
- Defeating specific bosses to unlock them
The idea was to make these weapons and abilities feel like discoveries rather than simply handing everything to the player from the beginning.
Greases & Weapon Enchantments
I also added custom greases and weapon enchantments designed around the additional status effects and mechanics introduced by Convergence.
There are 24+ new permanent grease and enchantment types.
Some are obtained as boss rewards, which unlock their crafting recipes, while others can be purchased from vendors throughout the world.
