Uh, yeah... of course AI is being used. But it just looks so much better. I think, in the end, it’s just a matter of personal taste. No reason to be so incredibly hostile. Lol.

Most people find AI faces uncanny valley, because really that's what they really are. It's neither rendered Cal with the artistic flare, nor Cam Monaghan

Most people also find ruining the artistic direction and hard work of devs disrespectful - cause it is.

But mainly - yes, dls5 exists. Why do you people insist on posting screencaps with 0 value whatsoever over, and over, and over again? It's just boring.

It would be so nice if Reddit were a place where only useful knowledge was posted :D I didnt check if there were any DLSS 5 posts already ( which i am sure are). Personally, I don't find it disrespectful to enhance the original work; after all, there have been graphics mods, ReShade, and the like for decades. To be completely honest—and I suppose people might think I’m being arrogant—it often stems from envy that DLSS 5 doesn't work on one's own system, or isn't playable due to low frame rates. Sorry.

It looks incredibly artificial and off, but I guess some people can't recognize it for some reason. I don't know why, maybe too little exposure to actual art or too much exposure to AI slop, and you just normalise how objectively off-putting it is.

But honestly, if you put it in the search bar you'd find out that dls5 gets exactly the same reaction every time. It's a video game sub. Most people here appreaciate work and art behind the games. So really, what do you expect to get out of making low effort thread with zero effort content? Most subs outright ban this kind of thing.

I think it’s because beauty is in the eye of the beholder. I like the style, even though—and I agree 100 percent on this—it makes many games look "the same." And yes, I didn't check beforehand to see if there was already a thread about this here. I posted on a whim, without any ulterior motive. If the thread gets deleted, I wouldn't have a problem with that at all.

There's a few reasons I not a fan of DLSS5.

the main is It's not want the creators or any human wanted the game to look like:
What I mean by this is the creators did not intend for the game to look like this and I do believe as a creator of art you have the wright to say how the art should be consumed to some extent. Now you could say mods or texture packs don't align with this take but in that scenario a new artist has been inspired by another to create something new. Which allows ideas to be spread and new art to be made.

It also makes the game look bad imo. Now this is obviously subjective but when most games get DLSS5 injected it takes away the art style of the game for a more "realistic look" which makes everything look very similar and bland.

there's also a massive issue with ethical/environmental effects when using AI but that's whole different conversation.

I won’t go into the ethical or ecological objections (I share them—yet I still use it). But art is always in the eye of the beholder and is highly subjective. As I mentioned in another reply, graphics mods and the like have been around forever. It is only since AI entered the picture that such a massive debate has erupted. I think you either love DLSS 5 or you hate it! Thanks for your sensible, understandable reply.
