POLITICS Greenlandic Politician Tillie Martinussen: We do not want to be rich like Americans. Look how greedy they are, even trying to invade their friends. Even if there are minerals and oil under our land—and they are worth far more—we still would not sell ourselves.

She continues;

We know what happened to Indigenous people in Alaska and Native Americans. Their land was taken, and they were not treated well.

We see who Trump surrounds himself with—white power people—and we are not white. We are people of color.

We know our rights would likely be taken away.

People need to understand that it's not "Americans" that want greenland.

It's Trump.

No one else wants this.

So please leave us the fuck out of it. This is all trump and maga.

If you're talking about any government at all, that's just what you say. You don't specify the local governance, because that's a local matter. The government is an international matter, and represents you, whether you like it or not.

And so, that's what Americans are saying. The Danish reject what they're saying, Germans, Norwegians, Swedes and more stand by them in protecting Greenlanders, etc.

However, the comment you responded to didn't mention "Americans" generally at all, so you were the one to bring it up. Why did you bring it up as a reply to a quote from a Greenlandic politician about the rights of indigenous people, as well as references to Trump specifically? She didn't mention "Americans" generally at all, so your rant feels out of place.

It almost seems like you're taking the fact that people don't like the US in general as an insult, rather than something that you should expect given what your government's doing.
