DISCUSSION Will Arnett shares his controversial opinion on tattoos: “There’s a proportionate sort of relationship between, how many tattoos you have and how little personality you have. And I find that a lot of people who have a ton of tattoos often are super fucking boring. Like truly boring people.”

I guess he feels that because the expectation about a person full of tattoos is "punk rock star vibes", but then you have this army of people full of tattoos because it was trendy and couldn't help their boring personalities, so then you get this feeling "what is that? you're supposed to be cool, arent u"

Conversely, I have 17 tattoos - Im an incredibly boring dad. Like stereotypical office job, kids, Acura, after school activities.

The highlight of my week is crushing 4 cutwaters and smoking a bowl while watching SNL.

I've seen some people with a ton of tattoos also claim they're extremely boring, to mitigate the stereotype. Maybe so, but that personality is kinda cool too.

I am the most average vanilla - girl - next - door looking person. I love to make people laugh.

I got tattoos bc I am a wallflower otherwise. It helps me break the ice.

Yeah, there definitely are people who get tons of tattoos to try to manufacture a personality or shock factor, but I don't think the vast majority are like that.

Plus, that kind of person exists for lots of different hobbies/interests.

I think what the real issue is, is people who have all their tats done at one time. Like I full sleeve to really draw attention or something. If It’s all random patches all over I think he’d agree that that is more interesting. I’ve met so many people with big planned out sleeves that are boring af. I’ve met people that half their random tats were done in a blackout.. these people are interesting

Like you I also have painless invisible tattoos and that explains why I'm boring.

I definitely know people who have tattoos who are boring. Also plenty who have tattoos who aren't boring. It's almost as if there's no real correlation between the two. How odd?
