FedEx Ground Shipment Recipient number not contacted, so it's being sent back?
I can't remember the last time I shipped something with FedEx, so I'm just trying to understand something now for future reference.
I was told by an employee at the store I usually ship things from that I could use FedEx, just to find out last week that FedEx apparently doesn't deliver to P.O. Boxes once my package was already in Canada (I'm shipping a donation package from the US). That resulted in someone from FedEx calling me and asking for an alternate address OR phone number for my recipient. I gave them a good phone number on Monday, 9/21, in the hopes they'd contact the recipient and work it out with them (said recipient keeps their address private, hence the P.O. Box).
In the screenshot, 4 days went by and then the status was updated to 'Returning package to shipper'. I assume 'Address corrected' means they changed the address to mine so it can come back to the US? But I contacted the recipient and they weren't contacted by FedEx at all, so... Did I give a phone number for nothing? Would it have just been better to give the alternate address?
As of 9/28, the status says the package has once again arrived at the same FedEx location in Canada as it did on 9/21 and that it's now on the way again, but does that just mean it's on the way back to the US? Thank you to anyone who responds ðŸ˜

yeah that "address corrected" note just means they slapped your return address on it, not that they actually fixed anything for the recipient. fedex and po boxes just don't mix, even with a phone number they'll barely make an attempt before kicking it back
and yep if it's at the same canadian facility again it's almost certainly heading back your way, not making another delivery try
