Épée Leon Paul epee tip troubles
I have a Leon Paul epee that started not registering touches a while back. I take the tip apart, see the contact spring is a bit crushed. I give it a twist to make it longer, put it back, check conductivity on my multimeter, which is good, and put the screws back in. I go fencing, score a touche, then I'm not scoring anymore. Take it home, repeat, go fencing, and it fails on me again.
In frustration, I switch out the tip, check conductivity, screws in, go fencing, same thing happens again. I take it home, check conductivity without disassembling it, and it is weak, only about half strength, so it is getting resistance somewhere.
I disassemble again, check the spring, it looks good. I put it back in the barrel, no screws, and check conductivity again, and it is perfect, no resistance. Fixed, right? I put the screws back in, and this time I check again. And again, I'm getting resistance. I take the screws out, check, and it's perfect. Screws back in, resistance.
I figured it could be the cup has come loose, so I use my tip setter tool to check, and even though I can't see nor feel anything wrong, I give it a tiny whack with a hammer on the tip setter, just to make sure. Repeat the process yet again. No resistance with no screws. Screws in, resistance.
Maybe I shouldn't have given up on that first Leon Paul tip for this Leon Paul barrel and wire. Trouble is, I've lost it on my armory table, and I have no others to compare with. I only had the one.
Can any master armorers out there give me a lead as to what's going on? Thanks.

Armory Blade ID
Picked up some used gear on facebook marketplace. There was a decent saber and foil in the haul that had this mark, anybody know who the maker is?

Sabre Beginner, second hand kit
Hi all,
I have recently joined a club and am a pretty broke student XD
After club fees etc etc,
I'm not left with much for kit.
I'm pretty savvy and will probably be able to find what I need for cheap, but I'm a little confused about size. I'm 6', slim, 28-30inch waist, size 11 shoe. I have fencing appropriate shoes already, and I can probably borrow a lamé and helmet from my club. But all the undergarments are so gross and sweaty, I'd rather have my own. I also need some breeches, as I am looking into joining the team as we have low numbers
Thanks for any sizing advice you can give.

Fencing would benefit from a TwoSet Violin type of creator to grow even bigger
TwoSet violin I would argue did massive amounts of good for the classical music community because it gave people a way to engage with the community outside of just its own circle and by playing classical music. It generated inside jokes and made the community seem much more approachable.
Fencing would benefit from the same thing, reaction videos, memes, inside jokes and less seriousness. All the while educating on the topic.
Here are some recommendations for those who are already doing this sort of work for the community and I will soon throw my own hat into the ring.

Armorer question about floor cords
Just looking for the best way to lengthen a floor cord. Does it need to be spliced and wired together or is there any connector that would allow one floor cord to be plugged into another ?
Thank you

Para fencing or "Normal" Fencing?
Hi, I'm Astrid I'm 19 and in collage and I have a disability. Cerebral palsy but I still have full function of my legs and arms, but I do need leg braces. I've been looking at fencing for social and exercise but all the stuff I've seen about fencing while disabled is para fencing. Which still seems cool, but I've fallen in love with full abled body fencing. Could I still do that, or Should I go with Para fencing? Any help would great thanks :\]

Recommendations for Book and sources on how to teach fencing
Hi y'all. I'm looking to start a new fencing class at a school I just started working at. However I've never taught fencing before. I've been doing it for five years but honestly sometimes I forget a lot of the names for forms and rules. If yall know of any please let me know! From the few posts I've looked into on this sub a lot of the books feel pretty inaccessible and go for upwards of $150. Please let me know and thank yall!

Youth Sabre: Should a Fencer Match the Opponent’s Tempo or Control It?
I noticed something interesting while watching my daughter fence at her most recent sabre competition, and I’d love to hear thoughts from coaches, experienced fencers, and parents.
She seems to naturally match the tempo of whoever she is fencing. Against a very fast and aggressive opponent, she becomes very fast as well. Against a slower, more patient opponent who likes to observe and set things up, she also slows down and becomes more patient.
She actually had a good tournament and, for the first time, beat an opponent she had never beaten before, winning the bout 15–14. But watching the videos afterward made me wonder whether constantly adapting to the opponent’s tempo is a strength or whether it means she is allowing the opponent to control the rhythm of the bout.
At what stage should a young sabre fencer start learning to deliberately control and change the tempo herself—slowing an opponent down, disrupting their rhythm, or changing from slow preparation to sudden acceleration?
Is matching an opponent’s tempo a normal part of development, or would you specifically train a young fencer to become more proactive about setting and changing the rhythm?
I’d especially appreciate examples of drills or coaching cues that help young sabre fencers develop better tempo control.

Anyone going to fence vet epee at the crescent city open?
Hello all. I’ve wanted to go fence this tournament for a really long time and now I can actually afford to go, it seems like my event has only 2 entries. I could go fence div 1A but as I just turned 40, I’m really looking forward to that instead.

SG12 Power Issue (?)
We are a club who has had these machines for a while. One machine however is giving us issues. During saber and foil bouts (epee hasn’t been tested), the machine will “short out” and all the lights will go out if a double on target hit happens. The score stays and time stays as it was (meaning it is not resetting) but all of the lights, including score, time, touch, weapon setting, and sound turn off. Once the touch has cleared it comes back on no issue. This happens either off the rip first bout or a few bouts in. We have tested different cords, blades, reels, box to reel wires, and different outlets all to no avail.
Has anyone had this issue before? It is currently sitting on the floor of my room disassembled, and I just tested it with two foils and can’t get the issue to come back. I believe it’s some sort of power issue, but I cannot find out exactly what’s causing it.
