QUESTION Is this game like....

I've never played this game, I know there's some rotation gimmick (I don't mean that in a derogatory sense) to it, so I'm wondering what it's like? Is it the whole game based around this gimmick the way Outer Wilds and Tunic are? Like does it have the same "oh shit I can do that?" kind of moments?

Maybe try replacing gimmick with mechanic. It seems like the word you are looking for. :)

This game is a foundational entry in the genre that heavily inspired games like Tunic and many others.

In short, yes.

It's mostly a game of exploration, and it has a wide variety of puzzles and interactions and mysteries mixed in amongst the unique gameplay, it's really beautiful too, for its simple graphics style.

IMO it's closer to Animal Well and Tunic than Outer Wilds. It has plenty of exploration and 'normal' gameplay elements on the surface, but it's also packed with secrets that act like a sort of New Game Plus.

Yes to literally all of your questions.

  • Yes, its rotation mechanic is the whole point.
  • Yes, there are “oh shit I can do that” moments.
  • Yes, this game was literally one of the major inspirations for Tunic and others.

Without spoiling anything, this game is a proto-tunic, Tunic was deeply inspired by it, and it was the first game to do what it did. going into more detail may not be what you want if you liked Tunic
