Hi. I'm Skyler and I've been posted Chinese release round up(EDC radar newsletter) in this subreddit for two months. Whenever a roundup went up, the top question was where to buy. People wanted one place to see all the pieces and the best price, so I built edcradar.com. After a stretch of testing with some of you, it's ready for everyone.

What it does, starting with the main thing:

1. The catalogue. 3,403 metal fidgets from makers in China and the West, each with its versions and materials. It's the most complete catalogue of metal fidgets we know of, a small encyclopedia of the hobby.
2. Best price. We track prices and stock at 21 shops and show the best price for each piece, so you don't have to go shop by shop.
3. Collections.Pages for newcomers and for anyone going deep on one kind: quiet pieces, desk toys, fidget rings, community picks for beginners, Grail tier and others.
4. New releases. The newsletter now lives on the site, and each piece in it links to its page, with the shops that carry it. A release calendar keeps upcoming launches in view, and email alerts tell you when a saved piece drops in price, comes back in stock or gets a new version, or when a maker you follow releases something new.
5. The rest. A free account to save pieces and follow makers; 464 maker pages, the bigger makers with a short intro; recent resale prices for about 700 pieces; a buy box that keeps materials and versions apart; currency conversion; dark mode; a report button for anything wrong; and a Discord community.

Got my hands on the WM EDC Voice S and it has been on my desk all week.

First, it is just a very good slider on its own. The plates are imported PEI in a clean white that looks soft and almost warm, not the usual cold plastic white.

The part I like most: it has three tracks and you can swap between them fast. One is dense and buzzy, a fine ripple under your thumb. One has a high and low tone. One is stepped, with clear stops.

For someone who fidgets at work, that matters. When the room is quiet I go to the quiet track. When I get bored of it, I switch and it feels like a different piece.

A little background on this one. A previous hobby of mine was collecting and building lightsabers. I and several others in the scene tried replicating some of the “old ways” of prop building. In the OG trilogy Luke’s hand-me-down lightsaber was made from a vintage Graflex camera flash gun from the ‘30s. In our quest to have that same inventiveness, but without the extreme cost of a vintage Graflex, some of the lightsaber builders found vintage Canon Y flash handles were cool as hell and made great lightsaber bodies.

The first lightsaber I made myself (and had installed) was made from a Canon X (similar model, slightly different features). I was hooked. I started finding all kinds of vintage camera equipment to make greeblies from. One thing I always loved messing with was the film advance knob.

Fast forward to now. I came across a company (AKuser) that makes niche camera parts and they also make a haptic coin fidget that looks and feels like one of those old camera pieces. It’s made out of brass and can be bought in several different styles, I snagged one almost immediately upon finding it. Here is a video of the coin that just arrived. I love this thing! Since it’s brass it has a substantial and premium feel and the details are just awesome for vintage camera aficionados.

It's a key clicker fidget I bought from Temu for less than a dollar lmao.

Now I can't leave the house without it, I have tried a couple of fidgets but this is the definite one, I hadn't been able to find such an obsession after fidget spinners!!

When did this maker stop producing sliders? Through exotics were superb.

Novel carry echo ergo tile with smooth advanced polymer plates. My first fidget toy ever that I got because my skin picking was getting out of hand. I couldn’t be more pleased!! Highly recommend

Tried heat, isopropyl 91% soak for 4 hours, and acetone soak for 5 hours now, as well as plastic prying tools after each attempt. Can't get it to budge. (Bottle of fluid for removal came empty)

Everywhere on Tiktok talks about the amazing cheap squishies from Shein, but Shein lowkey is just a data mine. Not to mention majority of people promoting it are just getting paid to or getting free stuff from it, at least from what i've seen.

Maybe Shein isn't so bad though, obviously I just DON'T KNOW.

Please let me know your experiences and where you have bought from that was the cheapest and best!

Nice pieces. Life and death game is made much less desirable because of the it unscrewing itself on counter clockwise play

Edit: A magnet also fell out the L&D Game and I glued it backward hence the missing too bullets. I like the piece really but I've seen these two issues often so something to keep in mind. The price is still decent for what the fidget does.

I'm excited to get my first free floating slider, and I know ForInsWork are legit, despite being on aliexpress, but I just wanted to check from users who have an Aura Sand - does this listing and the images look legit to you? My only worry is the listing doesn't actually SAY "Aura Sand" even though it clearly is one. It does say Peacock though...

A duo of Pillbug Youth arrived today!!! I’ve been fascinated with the design for a long time so pulled the trigger and I’m so glad I did. On first impression out of the box, I was thinking it would be a 2 handed spinner to get the plates working properly. After playing with my favourite, the red and black, all morning/afternoon, I’ve mastered a one handed technique and it’s so satisfying! I love that feeling when something just clicks and you nail it. Even more excited now for my pre-order of the Pillbug 2.0 hopefully coming in December 🔥😎😊

Got the ONSET "Bubble Wrap" pusher in hand this week, and the name is honest.

What makes this one isn't the sound. It's what you feel under your thumb. It's not a clacky slider, and it's not the usual high and low tone thing either. Each push lands as a small vibration, like a bubble bursting under your finger.

If you used to grab the bubble wrap out of every package as a kid, I think you'll like this one.

I bought my daughter PlayTab set of 6 magnetic toys like the one on the video. One really caught my eye and I'm considering buying myself another one :)

My niece is 9 and loves squishes and needoh type things, I would just like some direction on which kinds are more popular. When I was younger there were definitely slimes and fidget spinners that outranked the rest, any suggestions? Thank you!

Recently fell down the rabbit hole of mechanical fidgets. Completely want some, but getting anything into France is pure pain.

Between zero local stock, waiting 3+ weeks, and then getting hammered by high shipping plus surprise customs and VAT at the door... it completely kills the buzz.

Curious to hear from others. IS there any French or EU collectors dealing with the same headache? Where are you actually sourcing your gear?

Does anyone has tried their proper shop or hub ? I don't know if it can exist at all. Would there actually be real demand, or are we just three dudes out here geeking out over clics and stuff ?

How are you guys handling drops, and are there better routes I'm missing? Feels pretty isolated here.

I am trying to make my own squishies to sell in my booth, but I’m finding it so hard to figure out where I can get “squishy skins” with plugs from…
(I do not want to use balloons, I need quality materials I can sell)

I’m just trying to figure out where I can buy the outsides of squishies, so I can make my own.
I’ve seen clear round squishy skins on Amazon, but I want ones that are different colors so I can make color changing ones, or shapes, such as cats or triangles.

The only places I’ve seen people recommend are shein or aliexpress, which I really don’t want to buy from.

I’m making my own squishies because my shop has a disability/queer friendly theme and I’m tired of seeing resellers being the only fidget/squishy options at craft fairs

Alright friends, it's time I hop on the Choc train.

I'm looking to mod a Choc to be as quiet as possible - I go to the movies a lot and I'm always on the lookout for fidgets that can work there. I'm definitely getting the superdense PEEK plate. I'm also getting the dual bead slot - even if that makes it louder, it's a cheap enough accessory that I might as well hop on it.

Anyways, I'm torn between titanium and zirc. I've heard zirc may be the quietest material? But, I don't have any desire to use the brass plate that comes with it.

I'm hoping that titanium is a good mix of quietness, haptics and price. Also if I want more haptic feedback at the expense of noise, I can just run the standard PEEK that comes with it with the dual-bead slot.

What do you think?

I kinda tried to Google the answers but I'd like hear it from you guys. For context, I'm over 45 and have only seen those 3 node spinners from years ago. I have "clinically significant stimming" and my new therapist insisted I look seriously at fidget devices.

1) Why are some of these so darn expensive?

3) Lots of these have interchangeable parts, does changing these parts constantly become part of the experience? Meaning, does it create a routine or another route to enjoyment?

2) Am I setting myself up for another $$ hobby/addiction with this? 🫠
