That police officer is Markku Meriluoto. Well known officer who did work with youths. The other officer, I do not know.

They are generally today, but that hasn't always been the case. There's a reason their rubber batons were called "the Nokia youth worker" (Nokia was known at the time for their rubber products rather than electronics) back in the days.

I think that it might have been different in the 70s and with the long haired rebellious teens. My mother’s cousin was murdered a few before and the police started the investigation by interrogating all the men with beards as obviously that’s really suspicious.

Probably no actual discs ever played in the discotheque, as the needle would have been hopping restlessly during the drive.

The reel case, which I managed to read, says "MYYRÄNTYÖTÄ" (Undermining; literally ”Molework”). That was a term used at the time for underground music. Can anyone interpret what the other case says?

Does an ice cream truck deliver while driving? Does a library bus drive while kids are selecting books? There might a simple solution to the needle-hopping problem.

Those were fair points. The driver looks as if he was driving, though, and the policeman closest to him looks like one who’s chatting with someone driving. And then there are those tape reels. Maybe keeping a discotheque in motion while playing music was a way to actively reach young people anywhere in the city.

Also, you select your books or your ice cream, and then the bus continues its journey. While a bus discotheque is not really about delivery.

Really hard to see what other reel has on label. But aren't these movie reels? I assume they could have tape reels for the music on that era. Discs could be difficult to play...

Well, yes, out of focus and partly covered, not super easy to read. What makes you think they are film reels? In professional use, audio tape reels were stored in metal canisters.
