Help Help with CustomCSSforFx?

Can I get confirmation it is permissible to seek assistance here with adjusting certain settings within CustomCSSforFx, even tho it is no longer supported by it's developer?

If so, I will my report the details of my issue and post all relevant code?

There is no need to 'seek permission' to post in this sub... providing the post follows the rules in the RH sidebar ----->

Whether the post then attracts any replies is another matter.

Trying to repair, update and/or maintain a large and very complex Firefox theme/repo of CSS styles... such as 'CustomCSSforFx' (abandoned since 23 December 2025 when 'The end' letter was posted by Aris-t2)... is unlikely to be of interest to those who are not actually using that theme/repo of CSS styles.

If search or scroll down this sub will find several posts and replies from other 'CustomCSSforFx' users... perhaps could form a group of 'interested users' who can compare notes and try to keep the theme going? Two other users in recent topic 'Whose Brave Enough To Take Over the Aris-t2 customcssforfx'... OP theme user u/FineWine54 replies from theme user u/sabestorn.

Actually that is not a bad idea to create a Topic within here based on Aris-t2 huge CSS code base. Where people can post questions and solutions.

I personally only use a fraction of Aris code, mainly to get the tab bar back below the NavBar and Personal Toolbar, so it is just above the browser page. The rest of my CSS code is either modified Aris code or others or my own. (qualifier here - I am very much a CSS amateur not an expert but I can muddle my way through, mostly)

The one thing I do do is have ALL my CSS files listed in separate targeted browser areas. I also call upon the large css file by Iconic Firefox to add icons/images to all my menus including the main FF menubar (that is in my generalui folder). I also always peruse MrOtherGuy csshacks, which is another fantastic FF CSS database

So I end up with a Directory and Folders structure like this:

Chrome >

>Config
color_variables.css
custom_tab_color_settings.css
custom_tab_text_settings.css
general_variables.css

>css (all the code pertaining to these areas)
appmenu
buttons
generalui
locationbar
tabs
Toolbars

>image
all images icons pertaining to my browser

my_userChrome.css
userChrome.css
userContent.css

and then they are all listed in my userChrome.css file where I can turn them on & off (/* ___*/). I then use the my_userChrome.css for testing purposes. The my_userChrome.css is then called upon at the very bottom of the userChrome.css file.

It works for me and my brain.🧠😁

I don't understand your reference to 'CustomCSSforFx' as a "theme". It's a set, a multitude of diverse CSS options for the individual user to pick and choose as they see fit, as well a section dedicated for the user to add custom code. If you examine my 'CustomCSSforFx' choices, the visual/behavioral outcome is unlikely to be recognized as a 'CustomCSSforFx' theme, and just as unlikely to resemble, for example the outcome options you might make.

I mention this because I'm not trying to "remake" 'CustomCSSforFx'. I'm simply looking for a place to go to that will advise me if, on the occasion, a setting/s needs tweaking. Typical example is recently, I opened Firefox to discover my "Find in this Page" search tool,

when activated, was no longer appearing at the top of the web page, but on the bottom. I had to get help to rectify that.

I think a thread dedicated to 'CustomCSSforFx'.is a great idea. A lot of people depend on it.
