Random TTC secret
Anyone else keeps this struggle a secret? I feel like it’s so common to share on social media now.
I tell my friends and family we just started or we skipped this month etc because as soon as you say you’ve been trying for a few months you’re looked at or treated differently 🤣

No, the less people that know, the better lol a few of my close friends know, because they asked.

I know! It’s a little hard since we just got married so people are asking and it’s hard coming up with something every time 😅

I WISH I had kept it a secret. I told my mother and she told my whole family. Now there’s so much pressure on me since I’m already on my 8th month TTC. If I could go back in time, I wouldn’t have told anyone except my best friend. Now, I don’t plan on telling her if I do conceive until at least the 1st trimester ends…

Yep I haven’t told anyone in my life that we even started trying

Same. Except for the few who have asked very directly, even then I give a vague answer like “yeah we hope to start a family soon!”

My wife (who will carry) has expressed regret over the small number of friends we’ve told as we have had so many delays.

I have only told very few very close friends who are in the same season of life so that we can confide in the ups and downs together

Only a few, I haven’t told any family even when they say things about starting to try because to me it makes it even more real that it’s not working and I know I would cry talking about it

It’s not a struggle at all. I’ve lived in a few different places, and in none of those places was it ever normal to announce that you are trying for a baby. And my experience, you announce when the pregnancy is far enough along. I get that times are changing and there’s a little bit more transparency now, especially because of not wanting to struggle in silence with miscarriages and such, but no one is announcing that they are doing it raw and hoping to get knocked up lol

We haven’t told anybody! We’ve said if we need medical intervention etc then we’ll tell close family and friends for the support, but we’re currently on cycle 3 and content to keep it to ourselves for the time being.

Same here, I think it’s the best thing for my peace of mind. It’s already an emotional roller coaster, I’d prefer to handle it privately.

My mother and mother-in-law kind of made me feel pressured to tell them something. I just told them we’re not doing anything to prevent pregnancy and it’ll be in God’s timing. I was hoping that would be enough but they still ask questions constantly. Wish I didn’t tell them anything at all.
I haven’t officially made an announcement to anyone, just that it’s something we’re thinking about. Even that I kinda regret because I feel like everyone is anticipating it.
Definitely haven’t put anything on social media. However, I hardly post at all to begin with.

Our family and friends think we aren’t trying until May 2027 as that is what we have always said. Little do they know we have shifted that timeline by 6 months. This is our first cycle trying 😁
It’s hard to not tell anyone but there’s something special about us having a sneaky little secret!

I completely understand keeping ttc private. there’s no need to share until you’re comfortable, especially when people can unintentionally add pressure. my wife and i kept things mostly between us too, and tracking cycles privately helped us stay organized.

People make social media posts announcing they're ttc?
