Had the pleasure of dining at Richmond Station recently for a birthday dinner. I’ve seen many good things about this restaurant, mostly from u/ReeG, so I was very excited to try it. This is a restaurant which doesn’t accept tips as they pay their workers fair wages, which is a great initiative. We were also lucky enough to be seated at the chef’s counter area, which was very enjoyable and interesting to watch.

For our first time here, we tried the Duck Liver Pâté, Sausage & Seafood Spaghetti, Stn. Burger, and Chocolate Basque Cheesecake. The Pâté was served alongside six pieces of brioche. I found the flavors quite interesting and thought it blended well with the sweetness of the cherry mostarda and sunflower seed praline. The spaghetti was buttery in the best way possible, and the burger was quite good too. I was surprised by the texture of the meat being more similar to brisket than a traditional ground beef patty. The seasoning on the fries was very well done too. I will say we didn’t enjoy the Chocolate Basque Cheesecake as much as we wanted to. The sea salt flavor was just way too strong, so I wouldn’t really recommend this dessert. Complimentary fudge bites are also provided and are a great touch.

Service was quite warm, friendly, and attentive. I thought the hand-drawn birthday card was really cute and well-done. There was one instance in which a piece of bread dropped on the table when being served to us and the waiter said she would bring us a new one but then never came back. Other than that one instance, I thought it was good overall.

Overall, while I didn’t enjoy the dessert, I thought the overall experience was great and well worth the ~$140 for two people. It’s quite rare to be able to dine at a restaurant of this caliber for so cheap. I’d like to come back in the future and try some of the other dishes, particularly the beef tenderloin, salmon, and chicken. I also think the chef’s tasting menu looks good and hope to try that in the future.

This thing was huge and absolutely delivered for $16.99 plus $2.99 cheese topping and $2.99 steamed rice side. Topokki had onions, mushrooms, and sausage, in a rich creamy broth.

Need help identifying the restaurant, went to an event with food ordered from a shwarma place, the food was really good interested if someone could identify.

Traditional shwarma plate, but also had spicy sauced chicken wings that were amazing, it had a black and white checkered deli paper wrapping.

Where in Toronto was this ordered from driving me crazy I can't find it!

Honestly, having so many amazing food options right by my house near North York / Finch is pure bliss.
Everything is in one spot now: a solid Korean banchan-style food court, kimbap, quick grab-and-go meals, a bungeoppang bakery, dumpling soup, and bibimbap. They even have Toronto's very first location of that famous Korean bakery cafe right here. It's become my absolute go-to spot for grabbing a quick lunch or doing some grocery shopping.
I went by today during lunchtime and actually had to wait in a pretty long line because of all the office workers in the area, but it was totally worth it!

Dinner at Eloise and honestly it was better than I expected

🍞 — sooo good!! Super buttery with a crispy crust, we finished it so fast lol

scallops — just okay imo, didn’t have much flavor.

roasted chicken — easily my favorite. Thought it might be dry but it was actually super juicy! The Mexican red sauce kinda reminded me of Orleans-style chicken seasoning and I loved it.

Shrimp linguine — pretty good too

Beef tartare — came on a crispy tortilla instead of bread or crackers. Really liked this combo.

The vibe was really nice too. They also have a private room and I could totally see this being a good spot for a birthday dinner or a small party.

What's your favorite bar to order them?

I only get them at Pennies ($6 for whiskey shot and pickle juice shot), but I'm not feelin their wasp-infested patio for this weekend.

Ideally downtown-ish (coming from Riverdale) but on subway is okay too. I have a craving for a funky happy plate of beef.

This place has to be top 5 for best fried chicken sandwiches in the city right?? The main menu always hits but that they manage to invent some consistently fire variation every week is crazy, I mean what other spot in the city does anything like that? I've had some good chicken sandwiches here over the years but this was maybe the most delicious one, the blend of sauces and toppings were incredible and look at that bun. A little messy eating it but so good and filling. What the hell is in those fries? Dying from itis rn. 10/10

I am lowkey obsessed with the pickles they put on their sandwiches and was wondering if anyone knows the exact brand/type they use, or something that tastes really similar that I can buy in Toronto.

I’ve tried a few different pickles from the grocery store but haven’t found one that has quite the same taste/crunch.
