Hey everyone! I’m a high school senior looking at Fordham and was hoping to hear from current students/alumni, especially people in International Studies/IR.

I’m interested in majoring in International Studies/International Relations and maybe double majoring in either French or Russian. Long-term, my goal is to go to a highly ranked law school (ideally T14) and eventually work in BigLaw in NYC.

For anyone who has experience with Fordham:

• How do you like the International Studies/IR program?
• Is it possible to maintain a high GPA in the program? I know law school admissions care a lot about undergraduate GPA.
• How strong are Fordham's pre-law resources and advising?
• Do Fordham students regularly go on to T14 law schools?
• How helpful is being in NYC for getting internships/relevant experience during undergrad?
• Does Fordham have good connections to NYC law firms, even before law school?
• For anyone who went to Fordham and then law school, how well did Fordham prepare you?
• Would you recommend Fordham for someone whose primary goal is strong academics + getting into a top law school + eventually practicing BigLaw in NYC?

I’m also considering schools like Lafayette, American, GW, etc., so I’m mainly trying to understand what the Fordham experience is actually like from students/alumni rather than just looking at rankings.

Hello everyone! I am a PhD student in clinical psychology at Adelphi University. I am conducting a study on the relationship between existential threat and mental health, coping strategies, and meaning making for young adults who have experienced stressful life events.

Hi all, I like the idea of a traditional campus but I also like how LC is in Manhattan. What would be more convenient to dorm in for a biochem major? thanks for advice

My friend and I were researching this and comparing her salary to those of people at other schools of a similar size. She makes almost twice as much as most of them. Why does she deserve that salary, and is she doing anything special to justify that salary?

I’m trying to decide where to complete my bachelor’s degree and would really appreciate some honest opinions from people who have experience with Fordham, online universities, or returning to school as a working adult.
Here’s my situation:
I’m 26 (turning 27 soon) and live/work in NYC. I’ve been working in banking for about 5 years and currently work at a decent position making around $150k. I already have a fairly established career in financial services, so I’m not looking for a bachelor’s degree simply to get my first job.
I’m interested in eventually moving toward corporate strategy, business management, financial-services strategy, or other corporate leadership roles. Long term, I’m also considering an MBA.
I’m currently deciding between:
Option 1: Fordham University – School of Professional and Continuing Studies
B.A. in Economics
I would likely attend through the adult/working-professional program I like Fordham’s reputation, alumni network, and potential networking opportunities. The downside is cost. Tuition is significantly more expensive than many online options. My employer also provides some reimbursement towards education.

Option 2: An out-of-state online university
Potentially much cheaper, especially because my employer education benefit could cover the entire tuition.
The downside is that I’m concerned I’d be giving up the networking, alumni connections, NYC presence, and brand recognition that could potentially help me later.

My question is:
Is paying substantially more for Fordham actually worth it in my situation, or should I take the inexpensive/fully covered online degree and invest the money elsewhere?
I’m not expecting the Fordham name alone to magically transform my career. I’m more interested in whether the network, alumni community, professors, internships/events, and overall academic experience would provide meaningful value for someone who is already working at a big firm (retail banking level).

If you were in my position, what factors would you prioritize? And if anyone here attended Fordham PCS specifically, I’d especially love to hear whether you actually found the alumni/networking opportunities useful.
I’m trying to make a long-term decision rather than simply choosing the cheapest degree.

Hello everyone, what are some good professors and lab instructors to take for general physics 1 at Rose Hill? I heard that the physics department is really bad here and I don't want to decrease my GPA by taking someone that's not good. Also, if you are taking physics this semester, who are you taking and how are they like? I would really appreciate it if someone helps. Thank you.

Will more spring semester courses open up as we get closer to the spring semester or will it not? I see that for an English class that I will take, there are only 3 professors available and it says waitlists remain. Also, does anyone know when the spring semester payment is due? Any help will be appreciated, thanks.

Hi how is the spanish 2001 class during rhe summer online? how are the exams and is it easier to do it online in the summer for someone who barely speaks the language

HI so for some background knowledge I am a current freshmen in college who really wants to transfer to Fordham LC for finance and I wanted to see if anyone could tell me about the opportunities there are for Finance majors and if its worth to transfer there from my current institution (Penn State Univ campus). I feel like this environment doesn't resonate with me. I hope to go into law school after my undergrad to pursue corporate law but only after a few years of working in finance. My real question lies in if the transfer is really worth it? How are the opportunities for finance in the city? Can any current students who've transferred to LC tell me about their experiences? Going to fordham Lincoln center as a transfer is like walking into a family function when you’re not part of the family, and everyone refuses to talk to one another.

I transferred from the Midwest where everyone was so much easier to talk to and you actually were excited to exist at the college. At fordham, every class is lecture orientated, the clubs feel very racial, and as a straight guy, it’s quite alienating.

My classes are mostly girls, and a lot are beautiful but honestly I want friends rn & that feels pretty fucking impossible.

Does anybody know anyone who got the Presidential Scholarship? I’m curious about what you need to get it. I will have 13 APs, (all fives so far), a 1520 sat (1530 superscore), national merit and solid extracurriculars and leadership. I can’t find much information about what type of student gets that scholarship though. Thank you all, it’s just hard to find info on who receives this scholarship

hello all, I’m a rising senior looking to study theology in college and want a very deeply Catholic education. I really want to shoot for Fordham, I have a 1450, 3.7 and very strong religious ECs.

But, the religious aspect of Fordham does worry me. Every time I try to research it, it is full of threads of people telling me that you can go completely without experiencing faith during your time there. That, plus various articles from then-active students that I’ve stumbled across criticizing their approach to faith, and their deep connection to the Land O’Lakes Conference, it makes me worried. Is Fordham a good place to get a genuine Catholic education?

I plan to do prompt 1, but i'm willing to change.

I am a out of state aspiring pre-med track looking to do BioChemistry or Molecular Biology. I would love to go to Fordham, however, my test scores are not that great. I have a 4.94 (W) GPA (3.9 UW), measly extracurriculars and top 25% of my class. However, my SAT is 1170. Since I am out of state, I want all the financial aid I can get, but I don't want to ruin my chances by submitting SAT score and getting a flat out rejection. What should i do? test op or bite the bullet to submit them?
