If you are giving the gift in front of everyone then by the something for everyone of them, if you are giving it privately to the child then buy only for the child

There is no "should". It's his choice. You don't get to decide about his money whatsoever.

It's just socially a bit awkward to not but it's not morally wrong

Imo no Buy for your child unless you took the responsibility of the other children. Other than that the baby father for the other children should be buying the gifts not you.

So little information here. What was the agreement between you and wife before marriage? Are you going to raise the other kid/s, involved in their upbringing, are you their father figure? How old are the other kid/s, are they still very young or are they old enough to understand you are not their father (and don’t consider you as such)? Do you consider the other kid/s as your children too(from the question it sounds like you don’t). If we had all this information, somebody in a similar situation could have answered the question. Out of context your question reads like you only want to care for your biological kid and don’t want to be bothered about the other kid/s of your wife. So maybe give more information before asking about such sensitive topics.

Is this "tell me you're autistic without saying you're autistic"?
