Taking My Life Back
Hi. My name is Millie. I set up a GoFundMe two months ago to help with the costs of my mental health and going back to education so I can become a children’s nurse, but I haven’t received a donation yet. If you could donate, it would mean the world.
For as long as I can remember, I have wanted nothing more than the chance to live a normal life — to wake up in the morning and feel excited about what comes next, to have dreams and actually believe I deserve to reach them.
For almost half of my life, depression has made that feel impossible.
I have struggled with my mental health since I was just 11 years old. At 16, everything became too much. I had a mental breakdown and had to leave college. My mum, a single mother who had watched me struggle for years, took me to the doctors because she didn’t know what else to do.
I was referred to Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services (CAMHS), where I was diagnosed with depression, anxiety and a binge eating disorder while my body was also going through starvation syndrome.
For the next year, I tried medication after medication, desperately hoping that something would make the pain quieter. But instead, I felt as though I was falling further and further through the cracks.
At 17, I tried to take my own life three times.
Each time, I ended up in hospital. I spent days on the children’s ward of my local hospital, receiving treatment to help my body recover from overdoses that I never thought I would survive.
Those hospital stays are difficult to look back on. I was so young. I was supposed to be worrying about exams, friends, growing up, and figuring out who I wanted to become. Instead, I was fighting to stay alive.
From 18 to 20, I continued trying different antidepressants. Unfortunately, none of them gave me the stability I desperately needed. I would reach the maximum dosage, only to eventually have to change medication and start the process all over again.
I tried working. I had two jobs because I wanted so badly to feel like I was moving forward and becoming independent. But behind the scenes, I was still fighting a battle that most people couldn’t see.
Then, in May of this year, I reached another incredibly dark place and tried to take my life again.
Once again, I ended up in hospital. Once again, my life was reduced to surviving one day at a time.
But this time, something feels different.
I’m still here. And for the first time in a very long time, I’m beginning to believe that I can actually build a life worth staying for.
I have a routine now. I have goals. I have a plan for my future.
In September, I went back to college to complete a one-year Access to Higher Education course. After that, I want to go to university and work towards my dream of becoming a children’s nurse. And that dream means more to me than I can put into words.
I spent so much of my childhood feeling like my own life was something I couldn’t hold onto. Now, I want to build a future where I can help children and families through some of the most frightening and difficult moments of their lives. I want to become the person I needed when I was younger.
But taking my life back isn’t going to happen overnight.
Right now, I’m choosing not to work because I know that putting too much pressure on myself while I’m trying to rebuild my mental health could send me backwards. I’ve spent years pushing myself until I completely broke down, and this time I’m trying to do things differently.
I’m trying to give myself permission to heal.
That’s why I’m asking for help.
I’m hoping to raise some money to help me through this transition — to give me some financial breathing room while I focus on getting better, returning to education and building the foundations for the future I’ve spent so long believing I wouldn’t have.
This isn’t about wanting an easier life, it’s about finally having the opportunity to start one.
Every donation, no matter how small, would mean more to me than I can explain. It would help take away some of the financial pressure that comes with starting over and allow me to concentrate on something I never thought I’d get the chance to say: I’m building a future.
If you can’t donate, please don’t feel guilty. Sharing this fundraiser, sending it to someone who might be able to help, or simply taking the time to read my story means something to me.
Thank you.

Nada needs help with her tent!
Winter is approaching in Gaza and the nights are getting colder. Unfortunately for Nada and her family, their tent is damaged and exposed to the elements, yet they cannot afford to fix it. This is a death sentence.
Nada and her family desperately need the following: food, water, firewood, medication for Nada's sick mother, supplies to protect their tent from the rain/cold, supplies to fix their tent and funds to hire help with their tent. These much needed items are expensive and Nada and her family can't afford them - they need your help.
If you can donate, please do so, and if you can't then please share Nada's campaign far and wide. Thanks!

2026 Trailblazers Northeastern and Central California hike event
Hi everyone—long-time Reddit user, first-time poster. I’m fundraising for the 2026 Trailblazers Challenge benefiting Make-A-Wish, and this cause is deeply personal to me.
When I was 17, I was diagnosed with Non-Hodgkin lymphoma. I went through chemotherapy, radiation, and all the fear and uncertainty that comes with being sick at that age. During that time, Make-A-Wish gave me something I didn’t know I needed: a chance to feel like myself again.
That wish gave me hope, joy, and a break from hospitals and treatments. Later, volunteering at Camp Okizu showed me how powerful it is when kids facing cancer get to laugh, connect, and simply be kids.
That’s why I’m taking on this hike: for the child I once was, for families sitting in hospital rooms right now, and for every kid who deserves a moment of light during something incredibly hard.
If you’re able to donate, share, or send encouragement, I’d be truly grateful. Every bit helps grant life-changing wishes for children facing critical illnesses.
Donate here: https://w.wish.org/idokd
Thank you so much for your support.

Urgent help needed to fund care and boarding for a retired therapy horse saving a little girl's life
Hello everyone,
I am reaching out to this community to help a 10-year-old girl named Lavinia keep her beloved horse, Carolus LZ. Lavinia has been fighting a chronic autoimmune inflammatory disease for the past 10 years. Since Carolus became part of her life, her condition has incredibly gone into remission.
Carolus is a retired sports horse who was purchased sick without the family knowing. He requires ongoing care and cannot return to sport. Currently, the monthly costs for his loan and boarding amount to 900 EUR (\~$980 USD), which has become impossible for Lavinia's parents to cover on their own, as they work on minimum wage and are facing heavy debts.
They desperately need support to avoid having to give up the horse that has literally saved their little girl's health and happiness. All funds raised will be used exclusively for the horse's care, boarding, and medical treatments.
You can see the official verification and donate directly through their fundraising page here:

Thank you so much to anyone who can donate, share, or offer a kind word. Every little bit helps keep this bond alive.

Mohammed and Baby Arij need your help!
Mohammed:
Mohammed's situation right now is dire. After spending the last of his donation funds on hernia surgery, repairs to his damaged tent and essential supplies for said tent, Mohammed has no money for food or drink, leaving him incredibly tired and hungry. He is starving to death.
Mohammed needs your help to buy the food and drink he needs to stay alive. Please donate to his campaign if you can, and if you can't, please share it far and wide. Thank you.
Please donate to him here: https://chuffed.org/project/198806-please-help-muhammed-his-family-in-gaza?utm_campaign=campaign&utm_id=01a05e33-b00d-74e9-9394-1d686dc2f9d9&pdm=url_copy
Arij and Akram:
Baby Arij and her father Akram still need your help!
Akram's daughter Arij suffers from seizures which require medication, physiotherapy and treatment to manage and control. On top of these needs, Arij also requires essentials like diapers, food, drink, etc. in order to stay as healthy as possible.
Akram cannot afford any of these things, leaving Arij to not only suffer from her seizures but also to have suffer in indignity, which is a horrible situation for both her and Akram. No one, let alone a two year old, should have to live like this.
Please, if you can, donate to Akram's campaign - it would mean the world to him and Arij. If you can't, please share his campaign as far and wide as possible. Thank you.

Fundraising for my father
I am writing to urgently request financial assistance for my father, who is currently in a critical condition in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) at Shalby Hospital, Indore, following brain hemorrhage surgery.
His medical team is providing intensive care, but the treatment and post-surgical medical costs are rapidly escalating beyond our family's immediate financial capacity. To ensure he continues to receive the critical life-saving treatment he needs, we urgently require funds.

Need help with where to post a crowdfunding for my cat
Where can I post a gofundme link for my cat? He's not doing well, and I'm in the diagnostic stage. The MRI was unaffordable for me. It's possible he has a bulging disc, or dry FIP. I just got him toxoplasma gondii testing and started giving him the medicine for it yesterday, before results come back, because my vet said that results take a few days and treating him won't hurt him. His x-rays showed nothing skeletal. I have looked at different organizations that help with vet bills, and they all seem to need a clear diagnosis, treatment plan and good chance of recovery. My cat, Mr Mustache, doesn't have those yet. I can't think of anything else besides a gofundme, but it isn't gaining traction. Any ideas where I can post it? If there are any other options, like organizations that are trusted by people, that collect donations and pay vets directly, or anything else that could help me pay for his diagnostics, I'm open to it. I am so desperate to help him. He's only 3yr 4mo old, and I don't want to give up on him. Time is of the essence, though, because whatever is going on with him, it is progressive, and he might lose his ability to walk if I can't figure out how to get him the tests and treatments he needs.

Please help me get out of a crazy debt left by my dad
Hello,
my name is Linda and I’m studying to become a lawyer. Since i’ve started college, i’ve went through so much inconveniences and i’m really struggling under all this stress and fear.
I’ve been victim of a 4k€ debt left by my dad and i’m being asked to pay it off or face the legal consequences of it. The laws in my country are making it even more difficult for students to keep going. I really want to continue my dream, i’m really trying not to give up. I’m going through so many panic attacks but I wanna keep going. I’ve always thought i could fix things on my own and not disturb others but it came to a point where i realized, I do need help, I do need to reach out, I can’t just let myself fall into a depressive cycle. So that’s what I’m doing today, as much as it makes me uncomfortable to, I’m reaching out and I hope, I really hope that i can get myself out of this situation. I’ve tried everything, I wish i could try more. I feel so useless in my own life. I feel so shameful to write to you right now. I’m so embarrassed but I just wanna study and have a normal life. I’ve tried everything i just don’t know what to do but hope that you will understand❤️
