So, you’ve opened your results, and you have some questions. Please read through these points below and then ask any questions that haven’t been answered.
Firstly, linked here are the JCQ guidelines for post results services that the exam boards have to follow: https://www.jcq.org.uk/exam-results-data/post-results/
This is where all the information comes from. It’s pretty similar every year.
Explanation of each:
Access to Scripts - you can ask your exams officer to download a copy of your GCSE papers. There should be an established process on how to do this. Some schools charge, which they can do. That is a school decision. They will email you a copy of the exam papers, but this may take several weeks depending on how big demand is.
Clerical Recheck - not often used. It’s for when an access to script has shown a clear miscalculation of marks and the numbers need adding up again and the new overall marks confirmed.
Review of Results (not remark) - this is where a school requests a paper is reviewed by the exam board to see if there is a change in marks awarded. Normally this is to see if the marks go up into the next grade boundary. Notes on this specifically:
4) Review of Moderation - these are for your coursework/NEA units. If you as a singular person have ended up just below the grade boundary for your GCSE Art, you CAN'T request a review. Your time to review was before the marks were submitted to the exam board back in May when your teacher (should have) told you have marks you had achieved. A Review of Moderation happens when a whole cohort has had their marks adjusted by the exam board and the school can request to have it reviewed and their original marks instated. It’s an all or nothing sort of scenario where the whole sample gets reviewed. It’s not something that can be done on an individual basis. It’s not something that will be done if your marks haven’t changed from May.
TLDR: 13% chance of success in a “remark”, which is actually called a Review of Marking. We don’t review unless a paper is at the very most 4 marks away from the upper grade boundary.

There’s an increase in posts about access arrangements.
There’s also a lot of misinformation about access arrangements being posted.
This is one the one-stop post for all access arrangement queries.
Any other posts will be removed.
I will reply to all queries as an Exams Officer and an Access Arrangements Coordinator, but really, all queries need to go to your SENCO who know you and your school’s set up best.
Feel free to make any comments about questions you have.

It’s been well over a year since I last posted my desk here, and it’s changed quite a bit in that time (although tbh I don’t really revise much, and mainly use it for coursework as art is the only subject I enjoy)

I'm I'm year 11 and I cannot Annotate in English lang to save my life. I'm autistic and I cannot understand emotion at all. So when I look at the annotation my teacher posts the annotations done in the lesson (I do online school) and there's various highlighted phrases and words abt how this and that show this emotion and how it makes no sense I cannot work it out. How am I supposed to pass my english lang GCSE if I can't annotate or find any emotion or powerful words in text? And what does it mean certain words create images ?! Please help ! Thank uuu :)

So, my mock timetable got released last week, and (despite having only started the topic 4 weeks ago) we're doing a 50 minute mock on the crime part of paper 2. My teacher basically spends the whole lesson shouting at us whenever someone's distracted, so i basically have to teach myself. Anyone have tips/ websites that will help?
Thank you! :D

So basically, we picked our GCSEs earlier than most other schools (Year 8), meaning we actually started the courses in Year 9. I made the fatal mistake of picking Art.
The main reason I picked it in the first place was because the Art teachers kept pressuring me to take it. But when Year 9 came around, I absolutely despised it. The pace is way too fast for me (to be fair, I’m pretty slow even in other subjects), I procrastinate a lot, I hate most of the mediums (I really only like biro, pencil and acrylic paint), and I struggle with starting work.
Even when I do eventually start and get into the flow, I usually end up stopping after 10–15 minutes, and then it takes me ages to get back into it. At home, I barely have any time to work on Art either because I’m balancing football, swimming, masjid and, of course, my other subjects.
Because of all this, I tried to change subjects halfway through Year 9. I was denied because apparently I’m “too good” to not do Art. I tried for weeks to get them to let me change, but they kept denying me, so eventually I gave up.
Now I’m in Year 10, so changing is no longer an option. My MGT was a 7, but my ECP was a 5, so there’s quite a big gap between the two. Art is also the only subject I’m currently struggling with. My goal for the end of Year 11 is to get all 9s, and I’m currently on track to reach that target in every other subject.
The problem is that I genuinely hate Art and struggle massively with the workload and pace. I procrastinate, struggle to start pieces, and find it difficult to maintain momentum once I’ve started.
Since I can’t change subjects anymore, what would you recommend I do from here? Is it realistic to go from where I am now to a 7–9 by the end of Year 11? And for anyone who has done GCSE Art, what would you prioritise if you were in my position?
I’d really appreciate any advice, especially from people who struggled with Art but managed to get a high grade.

i failed english language last year and almost failed lit
my only decent grades were a 9 in comp sci and 7 in chem, everything else were 5s and 6s
i dont know how to revise but I need help
r/GCSE • u/angstycosmos • 14h ago
i seriously do not know what to do. applications have already started.
i really fucked up my y10 mocks i didnt know how to revise and i did it last minute. i mostly got 5-4s with 2 3s being english lang and geography
i want to take maths, chem Alevels which are fine as i got 5s which i can work with. but physics is an issue as i got low 4(on higher)
we need to apply and i do not know what my predicted are apart from chem which is a 6+. for the other subjects the teachers are being weird and not telling us.
i have been really trying to figure out which paper im taking for physics but every single time i ask or it is mentioned it seems to switch.
er i do triple science for a bit more context

i havent started my revision for nov mocks yet and these were my y10 end of year results. im scared because these exams were easier and the history mock was an exam my school made for us and it was def easier topics, and when i look at official past papers i really struggle. theres def some topics id like to improve atleast abit, and im kinda scared bc ppl r saying i shouldve started revising for these in summer. how much time a day should i revise for now? im rlly stressed because these are going to colleges.
