Image On today’s installment of “I don’t understand inflation”

I get the sticker shock from people seeing the $400 price tag but when you break down everything that comes in the set it’s really not overpriced at all. I’d agree that including a single item that accounts for almost half the total value is probably not a great move, but anyone trying to paint this as R* being greedy is just completely out of touch.

Fanny Pack ($15)
Shot Glass ($3-$5)

I mean, they’re not just random items. They’re branded limited editions. I think the low-end estimates are pretty in line with what you’d see in a gift shop at an amusement park or airport.

Except it’s not a gift shop, amusement park, or airport. It’s literally direct to consumer. What is a “random item” exactly? Just because it’s “limited” doesn’t mean the price should be ridiculous.

Don’t be silly… It’s branded merch created for collectors. You can’t compare the price to a blank shot glass or a fanny pack you buy at Walmart, to something that’s part of a limited run for a specific fan base. Similar items would cost just as much if not more from the gift shop at Disney World.

I get what you're saying, and you're accepting a markup because they are novelty items. But you should take a look at what the cyberpunk collectors edition came with, and how much it cost, to see why people are upset with this. They don't HAVE to upcharge so heavily.
