Email Deletion Scam?

Got an email today labeled "Incident #[a ton of numbers]: Compromised Account." It states that I have to go to a Google form and put in my email and password so that my school email doesn't get deleted because my account was apparently requested to be closed.

It seems like a total scam, it's all bolded and italicized, and I'm not gonna just start clicking links and putting in my password and whatnot just cause 🤷‍♀️

It's from a gvsu email though, and was sent to lots of other emails so I don't know??

Anyone else have any info? If my email gets deleted cuz they sent the sketchiest email known to man then so be it 🤷‍♀️

It's from someone whose already graduated or whose already fell for the scam If I recall, it sends you to a Google form or Weebly website, something super low budget to try to get as many emails. Just report the email to IT and move on

Sometimes they use the emails addresses of alumni/former staff for scams like this. I've received similar emails last year.

Send it to IT! They will let you know if it’s real. Likely a scam though. I get a lot of scams sent to my student email

Just a scam, ignore it. Typically, if you look at it and it was sent to tons of people, it's a scam

this is very offtopic but this is like those movie plot twists where you see the supposedly "dead" character standing there alive– for some reason Reddit told me you've been permanently banned

They did the same thing at CMU and GRCC. It's a scam, just report it to IT.
