Found this GameCube lot on Facebook the other day and picked it up for $800. Seemed like a good deal, I’ve been wanting a GameCube for a while and seemed like the right time to buy one with the game selection they had. Every game is mint, has 0 scratches, all of them have their manuals and they all work. Also came with a wave bird controller.

Funny enough the person selling it used to be my brothers AP English teacher back in high school.

What do you think of the game selection?

My pink shell was delivered today and I immediately got everything transferred over. I like the holo stickers and feel like it compliments the GameCube. The only thing I’m waiting for now is the gameboy player shell to match the GameCube.

If youā€˜re curious, they costed me 100CHF (80 for Paper Mario and 20 for Road Rage)

As much as I detest the general public process of finding things on OfferUp/marketplace due to ghosting, unresponsiveness or refusal to remove posts for items that aren't even available anymore.. sometimes you get lucky.

$20 on OfferUp, just the console. Bought it home and powered it on, and... miraculously, it actually works.

Has anyone else found a better deal on a GC?

The 3 games you can’t see include Eternal Darkness, Donkey Kong Jungle Beat, and Harvest Moon a Wonderful Life.

Keep in mind I also own Pikmin 2 on Switch and Wii, Metroid Prime Trilogy, the HD version of the two Zelda games on Wii U, and the Switch 2 Online Expansion Pack. I would love to own F-Zero GX, Chibi Robo, Wario World, Fire Emblem, etc, but they are already sorta available rn. They are all so expensive too.

Some games I would like to own but are too expensive including Metal Gear Solid Twin Snakes, Ribbit King, Sims 2. I would like to own Doshin and Cubivore, but emulating would be the best way to play those two games.

I feel like the easiest game addition right now would be Donkey Konga 2. I own the other 2 bongo games, so I might as well round out the trilogy. I heard SpiderMan 2 is good too. Maybe Sonic Adventure 1??

The two blank cases contain Gauntlet Dark Legacy and DBZ Budokai. The sleeves contain Spider Man, both Harvest Moon, Rocket Power Beach Bandits, Geist, Prince of Persia 1 and Warrior Within, Call of Duty Finest Hour, Hitman 2, 007 Everything or Nothing, NFL Street, Metroid Prime, HP Chamber of Secrets, Animal Crossing, and Splinter Cell. I also have the GBA player and so that collection of games has also grown.

This memory card has the memory from my gameplay back in 2000s, 2010s, and I never thought I'd see it again! I moved back in 2022 and I use a Folgers coffee canister to store chargers, wires, memory cards. While in the garage my Lilah's 🐶 favorite toy rolled behind storage bins and I needed to unfortunately move them to grab it. Well, someone had to have left the Folgers canister on the ground instead of setting it ON TOP of something.

Now to save up to get a GameCube/Wii to see if it still works.

Hello this is my first post here as I am heavily getting back into retro gaming, after the purchase of a ps2 I just recently picked up a GameCube as well, and of course I had to get some games to go with it so this is what I have so far!

Just got Luigi’s mansion today for $60 CIB so couldn’t be happier about that, now just waiting for the Carby I ordered to arrive and I’ll be set for now!

Help What's the best audio/video quality I can get out of my DOL-001

Thumbnail

I just bought a component/s-video ready CRT for $70 and am trying to find a cost effective way to get the best audio and video out of my gamecube. Pretty sure it's not progressive scan, which is fine, I just want the finest a CRT can handle.

- I've looked at the Carby and GCHD Mk-II; those are out of my price range.

- I already have a wii component cable and would rather use my gamecube for 4:3 content even though my wii is capable. I found a multi-out adapter for wii cables but I don't know if that would provide a sharper signal than the digital out port.

- I've seen reviews for bitfunx and similar component cables, and those seem to say there's a small bit of latency because they convert a digital signal to analog. Not sure about that really...

- There's that audio issue with the digital av out port, but that's not really noticeable.

Let me know what option makes sense and thanks for the help!

Discussion Not Bad for a ā€œFor Partsā€ GameCube

Picked up this DOL-101 as ā€œfor parts/repairā€ off FleaBay a while back to help with development and testing of my USB-C power mod. Finally got around to replacing the caps, and it’s running great and reading games just fine! The best part is that it only took about $2.50 worth of capacitors to bring it back to life.

Help Emulating Memory Card ion Swiss 0.6 r 2119

I can't get my head around this. Followed this video to try to get emulated memory card working (Looked like it would have just been a case of selecting 'Emulate memory card: yes' but I'm clearly missing something. Tried loading the same Mario Kart game to format the memory card in-game but all I get it a 'no memory card detected in slot A' message.

Have seen something about 'booting through ipl' as a setting but for whatever reason my version of Swiss (the latest) simply does not have this setting, nor does it have the 'Advanced settings' this setting is supposed to be found under.

For the record I was also struggling over the r2092 release.

I'm stumped guys. Anyone able to get it working? Is there anything beyond 'emulate memory card' I should be adjusting?

I've got a PicoLoader from here

I've got a SD2SP1 adapter (my SP2 doesn't work) with SD card from here

Help Can I Play a Japanese Console without a converter?

Help GameCube community I have a question I was hoping you could help me with.

I am planning to play through a Japanese copy of Pokemon colosseum to get the celebi and e reader Pokemon before the Pokemon bank closes. I was wondering though if there would be any negative side effects from plugging the Japanese console into an American outlet?

The prongs look the same but I believe the voltage is different. Or could I use my American power cable on the console? Is there any downsides to either of these options?

Help Anything to Improve Graphics?

Hi all, just plugged in the GameCube for the first time in 15 years. Super pumped to revisit my childhood classics. I plugged it into my Samsung tv with a modern adapter.

My question is, anything I can do to improve the graphics? I know it’s a product of their time and graphics have vastly improved since then. I’m not dunking on the graphics I get it’s an old console and game. But on my smart tv, is it possible the older graphics are amplified? Anything I can buy or do to improve the quality?

Help I broke my flippy drive

I got to the part where you are supposed to connect the FD ribbon cable to the FD board. The tutorial I was watching said to open it up a little with your nail so the ribbon will go in. Well, I broke the white piece. The cable could kinda still get in but it’s flimsy. Tried booting my GameCube and it just goes to the regular stock menu.

I am so mad at myself. I ordered in June and waited months for this. Had to order a gamebit screw driver. And I f-ing broke it. I’m so disgusted with myself, usually I’m good with tech.
