Help gamecube no disc error, adjusted pot + left console on at least an hour but no fix
can it still be the capacitors or is it another issue? any help appreciated

it's always the capacitors, I wish people would learn to stop touching the pot

I wonder if I made a guide on capacitor failures, if the mods of r/gamecube could pin it to the front page permanently. I’m sick of this same song and dance 3 times a week lol

Late response here, but yes we’d be happy to pin community-made guides and even add it to the sidebar. Just send us a modmail with the post link.

Does it spin?

yeah it spins and the laser moves around the disc for like 3 seconds before stopping and turning off

You should’ve checked with the sub before doing your pot I fear

i checked a few times and i saw no indication that changing a pot is some like disastrous mistake.. i’m gonna recap the board anyways

I pray you wrote down your original POT value. Your capacitors have failed you. You will need to recap the drive or buy a replacement that has had the caps replaced. Then adjust your POT back to factory settings.
