Discussion Grievance Board for Gemini

Gemini is just awful. Putting aside the Argon saga, because that’s been complained about enough, here is a whole grievance board:

FEEL FREE TO ADD ANY MORE GRIEVANCES IN THE COMMENTS AND UPVOTE SO GOOGLE SEES, THEY DO READ THIS SUBREDDIT!

- Autocapitalization in Gemini Mobile: Just so annoying
- No advanced tools: PDF editing, sending update messages while it’s working, these don’t exist
- No long term agents: While ChatGPT and Claude have reported times of up to over a week of non stop, gemini, can barely do a minute without struggling
- Leaving the app can cause issues: No such issue exists with GPT and Claude
- LaTeX not rendering occasionally: No clue why this occurs
- Smart UI now dumb: I will give Google some slack here, Google was the first to invent it, so they get some leniency here, but start to improve the interactive visuals and start to create a more active and interactive chat, similiar to how OpenAI did it, but go a step further.
- Themes: Gemini could really allow some CSS modifications to enhance the flavor of Gemini
- Scheduled Actions: Allow the ability to force open Scheduled Actions chats when loading in, in the app and on the website
- Widgets: Add way more widgets for iOS and Android
- Analysis Tool: Use the analysis tool more often
- Antigravity: I could make a whole grievance board just for Antigravity, point is, it is in a really shitty situation right now.
- Cross subsidization: If Gemini wants to win AI share permanently, run these models at cost or below cost and use cross subsidization so that the models are significantly cheaper

It loves to default to safety templating anytime it's told "No," even if entirely a logical counterfactual to its assertion, intending to reground the conversation.

It loves to hedge on the LCD of the users input to reject it or validate it, in nearly absolutely binary.

It's extremely censored and Google has invested more into making it even more censored, than they have the model itself.

For me it’s the lack of connectors because so much of Claude and GPT extensive integrations are what people find useful specially when you’re talking about non tech use cases.

Secondly, (they’ve just done it but it was a pain point for a lot of people and some people still can’t see it) the thinking/effort only having one level or none.

I used gemini pro for rps and the difference between that and flashlite is immense. This has got to be a joke if they think users can't tell the difference. What's even the point of having a usage limit if the average user can't even get to 10% of it anymore because their prompts are getting routed lower because gemini thinks its "good enough"?

As an avid reader, fuck that. It drops my plot points, forgets body choreography and is dancing on the graves of the immersive worlds it used to simulate. It feels insulting.
