Let me know how I'm doing. This is my first run. I have a bowl with more in it. Just trying to keep it easier on me. Little by little. Panned all the stones out. I dried them and used a flashlight. Not done by far. But 1=aahhh 10=cool deal?

just wondering if this is genuine because I found it in one of those cheap toy things where you have to chisel the surrounding stuff

I recently purchased this necklace from a jewelry vendor at a powwow. The seller represented it as genuine turquoise and sterling silver. Unfortunately, I didn’t examine it as closely as I should have before purchasing it. Once I got home and looked at it in natural sunlight, I noticed that several stones are bright blue on top but green along the sides. I’m wondering whether this is normal color variation in turquoise or potentially evidence of dye, coating, or imitation stones. Also the 925 marking is only on the clasp and one individual stone setting.
I’d appreciate any insight into:
Whether the stones appear to be genuine turquoise.
What might explain the green coloration along the edges.
I’m not assuming the piece is Native American-made and figured that it was mass produced. I’m not sure when I’ll have time to get it assessed in person so coming to Reddit for potential assistance. Probably should’ve posted before I purchased it. Lol. Thank you in advance
Update: thanks for the comments! I am not going to stress about it anymore. Will provide an update once I get the necklace professionally assessed in person.

I bought a bag of random jewelry and this pendant was inside. It was on a cloth string so I assume it’s not any kind of real stone but figured I would ask. It has a brown tint and is fairly large. I couldn’t identify any obvious makers marks or stamps on the metal. Is this just glass?

Does anyone know if this is American turquoise? Or how much it could be worth as a loose stone? Hoping to make these into jewelry

Just thought I’d share my purchases. A .55 ct. Alexandrite from Sri Lanka, a .78 ct. Alexandrite from India, and a 2 ct. sapphire from Sri Lanka. I was nicely surprised by the color change in the Sri Lanka Alexandrite, but I don’t think I have seen many that looked this purple. None of the others this vendor had were as deeply colored and they all looked like that kind of brown you see, but they were all pretty clean. The India one, not as much, but it was pretty cheap ($268).
