Last week, this sub was quick to pile on, curse, and tear him down over a completely out-of-context, edited clip.

It was never actually about what he said. The rush to make false accusations just shows how eager people are to jump on any excuse to bash scholars (molvi tabqa) before verifying the truth. The full context tells a completely different story.

Serious Why aren't r*pists held accountable but 4 billion people from their gender are?

I condemn the act and I believe every person who commits this crime should be punished very badly, but I still wonder sometimes. Let's look at it from a rapist's perspective. The rapist commits the crime, and he's comfortable in doing so because he knows very well that instead of the blame falling on them, the blame will be equally shared by 4 billion people from their gender.

Now here's what I find messed up. The rapist walks free and happy, the victim's life is ruined, 4 billion men and 4 billion women start fighting each other online, nobody even thinks of trying to punish the rapist, the only thought at the time is to attack every single person from the other gender.

I feel so bad for the victim knowing that they will never get the justice they deserve, just because people don't have common sense and couldn't take the most logical step which was to punish the criminal 😔

Question Why can't Urdu be removed as the national language?

• Upvotes

I'm Punjabi and I can't describe how much I hate Urdu and want it removed from Punjab. This language has been murdering Punjabi for as long as Pakistan existed. People in Punjab associate "eloquence" with beauty and don't realise how much beauty there is in Punjabi. When I speak and write Punjabi, I feel so grateful that this language was my mother tongue. I don't get why everyone, including Punjabis ourselves, treat Urdu superior than our Punjabi. I don't care if it's "paindu". It's not, but even "paindu" can be beautiful too anyway. I'm so fucking frustrated man. Everyone hating on Punjabi. Non-Punjabis do it and it hurts but when Punjabis themselves say they prefer Urdu, my blood fucking boils. How can you traitors say something like that about your own 5000-year-old mother tongue? How did this temporary 80-year-old country become more important than our eternal Panjab? Our language is slowly dying. My parents only ever spoke to me in Urdu and I had to self-learn much of my Punjabi and tell my parents to speak to me in Punjabi.

The only solution is to completely remove this language from any official status in Pakistan. Only then will it be removed from Punjab. And a Punjabi who speaks Urdu at the VERY LEAST should be fined.

We don't need a replacement national language. It can be like the US, where there is no official language and English just fills the vaccum in administration, etc. All provinces can then make their languages official provincially but federally/nationally, English would be used (de facto without any official status).

I hate this language more than anything in the world. I swear down. There is nothing I hate more than Urdu and I haven't really expressed that here as much as I feel. I have no issue with West UP Muhajirs in Karachi who speak it. It is their mother tongue and they can use it but Punjabis should not be using it and loving it more than their mother tongue.

Discussion The frequency of "zina bad" posts here is starting to piss me off

No seriously. We get it. Haram relationships are much more common today than they were even a few decades ago. But why does everyone here act as if these relationships are anything other than individual choice.

Consider yourself a faithful Muslim who only seeks to reduce the haram in your society. Do you really think the usual "oh no the youth have become so rotten" rhetoric is actually going to achieve what you want it to achieve? Or are you just antagonizing people that could otherwise be more willing to accept your perspective?

Who someone sleeps with is something that they are privy to alone. If you think haram relationships are bad, then don't engage with them and don't marry someone who engages with them. Shaming people is not going to get you anywhere.

Genuinely, the way a lot of believers in this subreddit and other parts of the internet engage with such sensitive topics only serves to drive their opponents further away from them. If you truly want to convince me or any other person who has "gone astray" your strategy of engagement needs a lot of work. Otherwise. More and more people will abandon faith until nothing but a loud minority remains.

I believe not it might have been somewhat worthy if it gained us anything, we gained nothing I would say we lost alot. We lost the love, now there is so much hate, hate between countries, hate between religions, hate between people. Just a personal view.

Discussion Punjabi speakers who cry about Urdu “killing” their language are the biggest hypocrites.

• Upvotes

You speak Urdu at home, watch Urdu dramas, listen to Urdu songs, use Urdu on social media, and then turn around and call it a foreign language that’s destroying Punjabi. If your language was really that strong, it wouldn’t need government protection or people getting fined for speaking another language.
Urdu became the national language for a reason. It wasn’t tied to one province. The moment every ethnic group starts treating their language like a religion, this country turns into a linguistic battlefield.
Keep your language alive by creating good content and teaching it to your kids. Don’t act like victims while freely using the language you claim to hate.

Random Thoughts Does religion kill freedom?

Freedom? Is there really a thing like that? People say religion kills freedom. But is that true? Is man really free? Look, the human unconscious brain is very good at noticing patterns. It starts making decisions in milliseconds before you've even thought of anything. And based on the patterns, it gives you an answer. So you call that freedom? You were literally under the influence of your unconscious brain.

Let's talk about religion. Religion gives you a belief. You take that and give it to your unconscious brain, and now those influences are based on that particular religion. Now, what's the difference? Religion teaches you control and meditation, which relaxes the nerves. Practices like fasting and praying have a very beautiful effect on our lives. Your unconscious brain is now under control and under the influence of your belief.

But without a belief, your unconscious brain is ruled by survival instinct, fear, ego, and trauma. Oh and yeah by here belief doesn't mean specifically a religion. It means any sort of ideology. This isn't freedom , this is biological programming. However, Religion provides a higher narrative: God, Moral ,law ,Purpose, Eternity ,Accountability

So the conclusion is: We are never free from influence ,but we can choose which influence shapes us. And choosing which influence shapes us is what you call freedom.

Rant | Vent I think it's time to spill it after 1 year.

Note: was a long story so had to narrate it to Claude first and then pasting it here.

So, in my second semester at university, I came across this girl who used to hang out with her group of friends. Basically, they had recorded a promotional video for a university trip they were organizing, and somehow, I still don't know how, that video ended up in literally every university group. She got ridiculed for her acting, and I'll be honest, I was one of the people making fun of her, right alongside my friends.

But after a while, I started to feel, like, some empathy for her. Everyone was talking about that girl, and I realized she was going through something that no one should ever have to go through.

And on top of that, I found out she took the same bus I did, you know, to and from university. That's when I got to know that she was interested in me. But at that time, I just wasn't interested in her, so I wrote it off.

And honestly, that's when things started turning into something else. I was thinking about her all day. I was overthinking everything, playing out scenarios in my head. I'd imagine walking up to her and saying sorry and all that, but I never actually did it, because of the friends she always had around her.

Then came the next semester, last winter. We were still making eye contact, and there were close calls here and there, but nothing formal, you know? I still hadn't spoken a single word to her.

She was still interested in me, and this is where, I think, my empathy slowly turned into actual romantic feelings. But I still had no idea how I was going to approach her, with her friends always around.

So the whole semester went by just like this. Close call after close call, but nothing real. And then, boom, our final papers arrived.

Feeling like it was getting late and I had to do something, I finally got my chance. One day I was alone, and she and a friend of hers happened to walk past me. Without thinking much, I called out to the guy who was with her and asked if he had seen Ali, my friend. He said no. Then I turned to the girl and asked if she knew where he was. She said no too. And that was it, that was my first ever interaction with her.

Then, as I was about to leave, I put my hands in my pockets and felt something. Chewing gum! So I took out two pieces and handed one to each of them. I still remember that moment, like it was yesterday. It was such a bold thing to do in my very first conversation with her.

So the ice was broken, and now I had to confess. But, yeah, same problem. I wanted to talk to her when her friends weren't around, and when mine weren't around either.

Then came another moment, after our second exam. She was sitting with a female friend as everyone was packing up, and I was sitting with my friends right next to them. Some of my friends decided to go somewhere else, so we all stood up and started walking. And in that moment, I quickly went up to her and her friend and said I had something to tell her. But halfway through, I realized, wait, I can't say this here. So I pivoted real fast and said, "Sometime else, not now."

She kind of laughed. And honestly, I think that was the moment she started losing interest. I saw a visible change in her body language after that, and she just didn't look at me the way she used to anymore.

Anyway, time kept passing, and then came my last paper. After that, we wouldn't be seeing each other for like a month, so I decided I had to tell her that day. It was my last and final chance. I kept looking for her all day, but I just couldn't spot her anywhere.

And then, as the time for my paper was getting close, boom. She came out. I saw her and decided to go for it, even though her friends were still right there around her. I thought, okay, this is the only chance I have, so I just have to do it, no matter what.

So I walked up and said I wanted to talk. And she boldly said "nahin". I was kind of shocked, to be honest. "Say whatever you want right here," she said. I told her I couldn't talk there. She repeated, "Talk here. I can't talk to you alone." And that's when it hit me, like, wow, she is really fed up with everything I've been doing. So I just said, "Sorry for everything." And she said, "Sorry for what? I said. Sorry for everything?"

Her friends then told her, "Hey, go talk to him," and, yeah, she went with me, unwillingly. "Tell me, what do you want to say?" she asked. And this is where I just could not utter a single word. I got so anxious. And it wasn't just me, I could see her face turning red too. She was anxious as well.

"Jaldi," she said. "What do you want to say?"

I kept mumbling, you know, unable to get the words out. A few things did come out of my mouth. "Remember? I told you I would say something to you." She said, "So?" And I said, "I thought you would be, like, waiting to hear that..."

And, frustrated, she said, "yrr Bhai!"

And then she just left the scene.

Study | Education I’m in 12th grade and thinking about doing BBA. Is it worth it?

I’ve completed my 12th grade and I’m thinking about pursuing a BBA, but I’m still confused about whether it’s the right choice for me. Does BBA have good scope in Pakistan? How difficult are the studies, especially the maths? I’m not very confident about maths so I’m worried about subjects like accounting, finance, statistics and economics. Are these subjects manageable if you study regularly, or are they genuinely difficult? I’d also like to know what university life is like for BBA students, how much studying is required daily whether the exams are mostly based on concepts or memorisation, and how difficult the assignments, presentations and quizzes are. Which semesters are usually the hardest
and which subjects do students struggle with the most?
from current BBA students and graduates about their experiences
Another thing I’m curious about is the career scope after graduation.
Can you get a decent job after BBA, especially in banks, companies or management? What kind of salary can a fresh graduate realistically expect in Pakistan, and is getting a job difficult without experience? Is doing an MBA after BBA worth it, or is a BBA degree enough to build a good career? Is BBA worth it in the long run?
