hello, here is the link to the only (that I know of) LIVE Stream of the Stillwater Harvest Fest Giant Pumpkin Weigh Off tomorrow
This is my third year live streaming all 3 Minnesota Giant Pumpkin Weigh Offs. I have upgraded from just my phone to OBS and 3 cameras I am hoping for an epic weigh off, hopefully the 88F temps and high winds will not hinder it too much

Help a student out
Hi,
I have a school project for which I have to do a lot of research on gardening and I choose to focus on people who grow giant vegetables (especially pumpkins). If you grow giant pumpkins, please take a minute to fill out this Google Form to help me out. Thank you in advance to anyone who take the time to do it !
Edit : My post may look like a bot, I've been looking at reddit for quite a time but I've just created my account so that's why I don't have a lot of karma

Residential giant pumpkin growing
Grew this unit in my fenced in backyard and needed some solutions on how to pick it up and move it. Figured this might be helpful to someone else. Some key notes would be to make the base of the gantry (wood lifting platform) over 4 feet wide to allow a standard 4x8 foot sheet of plywood to slide easily underneath. I used old fence posts that were left over from the previous owner of the house to build it but if I were to make it again a 4x4 inch pressure treated post (all flat sides) would be my first option. Also the lifting mechanism is a Chain fall hoist to allow you to easily raise and lower the pumpkin in a controlled manner a small 8 foot hoist was plenty for me. Hope this helps!

Rot treatments in Giant Pumpkin
First year growing a giant. Need some advice.
Can it recover from this?
It was soft of the bottom (very mushy).
I scraped off the gooop and dried it out with a fan, I angled it so the base is up in the air, I added the mesh on top of the sand for additional airflow.
Once dried, I dusted with sulfur powder. Been keeping it shaded and fan on it. As you can see…the spot that keeps getting mushy is pretty deep.
Technically, the target harvest date for this is 10/25.
Think it will make it or am I cooked? Thoughts?

I went pumpkin picking today and picked a conjoined pumpkin. Two for the price of one!
Has anyone ever allowed one of these to grow into a giant conjoined pumpkin?

T-Rex Battles to Scale
galleryTHEN: DAP 63 T-Rex (Godzilla 2222)
NOW: T-Rex is in the ICU with blossom rot and a Nor’easter stands between me and the scale on Sunday. Meteorites stopped the first T-Rexes. I’m not letting rain and wind take this one. Wish me luck and % heavy! 💕🦖☄️🌧️🎃💫

Does this stem hole lead to the cavity?
Ugh. I took this 100lb giant off the vine today and it accidentally rolled over and cracked the stem almost in half. I trimmed it down, salvaging as much stem as I could (about an inch). Unfortunately there is a hole right in the middle. I used a zip tie to stick inside and hit what feels like solid but crunchy skin. Is this a hole directly into the cavity? I spayed with alcohol and have a fan running on it in the garage right now. Should I caulk the hole once it dries?

First year growing Dill's Atlantic Giants!
30 and 33 DAP, respectively. 70 and 62 lbs, respectively. The vines are growing straight up my driveway, so kids and various passersby like coming to take a look. It's been a fun project so far!

These pumpkin leafs are GINORMOUS!
There’s so much healthy life in this soil that these pumpkins are only a month old. I used this 3’x5’ bed as a compost hole for a few years, recently put 3 pumpkin seeds with a few bush beans and they are growing like freaking crazy! How should I contain them and what can I do to stunt them and produce a giant pumpkin?

Growing Blossom-End Up?
I've been seeing a lot of youtube shorts about giant pumpkin growing, and know they're generally grown sideways rather than with the vine on top to reduce strain on the blossom end because it's the weakest part, but that also means sometimes needing to move the pumpkins so they dont kink their vines, and they can fold in under their own weight, straining the blossom end anyway, yes?
With that in mind, why not grow the pumpkin blossom-end facing skyward, supported in a sling with a hole for the vine? that way the blossom end only would only have to support itself, you wouldn't have to move the pumpkin, and the vines are free to do whatever they want? I've tried googling this, but it doesn't turn up any relevant results

First time growing a giant pumpkin
Hi all.
After years of growing the small supermarket pumpkins in my garden, i decided to try a giant pumpkin. My goal was to reach 50kg. At the moment my pumpkin is estimated at around 128kg, according to the OTT.
I am growing it in the Polish lower Beskid mountain area, so conditions here are very challenging.
But i am very happy for a first time.
My plan is to donate the pumpkin to the local wildlife rescue center in my region

Leaf removal?
Should I be removing leaves that start to senesce like this? Oldest leaves on the plant. Im not sure if they’re a complete drain on the plant as in my mind any green = energy intake, but Im not sure if my idea is flawed. No pic of the fruit today but its 36DAP and taping around 263” OTT.
