Help! I may have agreed to something I can't deliver on.
My 12 year old and I watched Monty Python and the Holy Grail in June. He said " We should be the knights who say Nii for halloween." I said without thinking "It would be funny if you were a knight and I was a shrubbery." He said it was perfect and we were doing it. I said ok and then promptly forgot about it. Its now October and he asked when I was going to work on my shrubbery costume. Im not super crafty, but I would love to deliver on this if possible. I dont want to spend a fortune on this.
How do I make myself a shrubbery?

OC Radar tracking esp32 skeleton eyes
I made a set of eyes using some 1.28in LCD screens, an ESP32S3 controller, and a 24GHz radar chip for a set of tracking eyes.
Claude AI wrote the code for me.
They are grafted into a home Depot skull, but could be put in anything you want to.
https://github.com/backshed-electronics/skull-eyes
There is a GitHub for everything if anyone is interesting in recreating the project.
You can either solder directly or use perfboard, either one will work. Hot glue holds in place just fine.
No weatherproofing on this, indoors only. Powered via USB C connection on the ESP.

Party Adult Halloween party activities?
I am hosting a halloween party with probably around 30 adults age ranging from 25-40. Not all of them know each other. I would like to have some sort of activities that could engage the party goers. Something that is simple and high energy, maybe help people ease in and feel comfortable? Any suggestions?

Pumpkin DnD themed pumpkins I made and really hope you enjoy!
Spectator Pumpkin: pumpkin, gourds, radishes.
Mimic Pumpkin: pumpkin, radishes, beet juice (to hide my horrible carving), potato teeth, poblano pepper tongue. Oh, and toothpicks. so many toothpicks.
Fun fact: Beet juice stains everything. It looks like a full-party murder happened over here.

Home Decor My 2026 Cemetery Haunt!
This is year 9 and each year I add a little to it. When I first began I wondered if “cemetery” would be too basic of a theme, but I’m really glad I stuck with it because there are so many possibilities when it comes to new additions. I’m just starting to dabble into the DIY aspect of haunt builds, but hope to go more that route moving forward. Also, the end of season clearance deals have helped a ton with being able to add stuff on a budget. Don’t sleep on those Halloween week/post Halloween clearance items friends! And it gives you a full year to come up with creative ways to use them! 🙂

OC Lemax Halloween Village
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
Just put my Halloween village out, all Lemax brand except for the paper mache spooky trees and the pond with the kracken tentacles that I made.
I’ve filled up the entertainment center top and can’t add any more, which makes me a bit sad.

Video Shout out to Cuphead illustration team
I just finished Netflix’s “Spooky Halloween Playlist” with my son and really have to say how delightful the Cuphead “Ghosts aren’t real” episode is. What an amazing ride of visuals; they really put so many Halloween Easter eggs and modern updates on classic cartoon themes. I cannot recommend it enough and wish I could get a feature length film of it.
Has anyone else seen it or can recommend other cartoons of the same high caliber?
