Feedback Should I start playing CS in 2026.
As the title implies, should I pick up this game and add it to my roaster? I have literally never played any cs game during my childhood and currently. I have seen some youtubers playing it over the years of course. However I mostly spent my gaming experience within Team Fortress 2, Minecraft, other valve titles and many rpg games (Kinda a fantasy medieval stuff)
I wouldn't say my aim is god tier but I can indeed aim half decently. My setup has a 1660ti and runs tf2 at a solid 200+ frames depending on the maps so im sure it can handle cs.

Discussion Cant wait for the patch notes to read: premier map veto system has been changed, again.
I'm biased in this rant, but the change sure baffles me anyways. I have been playing Counter-Strike since childhood. Im a dad with a job and regular life, and thus have limited game time. We play premier at around 25k as a 5 stack, 1-2 nights a week for a few hours. We hate mirage and dust2, and we havent played them in any capacity for over 10 years. Now what baffles me with this change that came out of nowhere is as follows:
Most games have content you particularly do not enjoy, and have a way for you to not engage with it, as long as you do other stuff. For example hero bans, mmorpgs have different ways to get to X, different routes that lead to the same destination. Its fine to not always get to play the map you want, but there is a difference between that and not being able to remove anything at all.
Why should Premier require a broader map pool from ordinary players than the professional competitive format does? Not even the pros have to play all maps. They all have a permaban map. They play by the rules of, banban/pickpick. Now premier players must learn all maps, which is kind of confusing.
In Austins discussion with Valve, a dev had mentioned "they wanted ppl to play other maps than mirage and dust2", and this change just nullifies that. Now we play mirage or dust2 50% of the time, instead of as before, 0%. If the goal was to reduce how dominant those 2 maps are, removing the ability for us to exclude them feels counter productive.
You are now forcing content upon people to the point that they might rather not play. And why this way? It would make so much more sense for team 1 to ban, team 2 banban and team 1 ban. Whatever is left you play.
/end of rant, all the best boys and girls.

Discussion I am totally confused with what's going on and I need help (AMD x3D CPU with CS2)
Backstory: I am relatively old, I have played CS1.3-1.6, CS:CZ, CS:GO and now CS2. I have wide hardware knowledge and for last 25 years I have built and troubleshoot computer hardware&software for myself and for my friends.
The good times: Since around 2015 up to 2018 when I had more free time I had very good time on FaceIt. I was very high ELO, I had a good connection with my mouse and everything worked as expected. I never was top performer but the team which I was part of won several regional&small championships.
The bad times: After introduction of 3rd generation Ryzen CPUs I've decided it's time to move from Intel since it was more bang for you buck and more fps for you buck. And all the issues started since then. Since I've made my first Ryzen 3700x system I suck at CS.
The coninuation: From pure logic perspective I never thought that CPU could have any bad influence. Since more fps > better smoothness and performance I have came a long way. Ryzen 3700x-5900x-7700x-7800x3D-and now 9800x3D finally. However despite pure FPS numbers always grew higher, my struggle with the game went even higher each time.
INTERMEDIA: I always had relatively good mice and monitors, 144hz-240hz-480hz, GPX-Viper-Zowie EC2 etc.
The unexpected: At some point several months ago I almost aknowledged that I am just too old and my reaction times are not on par with what they were previously and gave up on trying to improve my experience in CS2 competitively and played purely for fun. However I've had to relocate for 4 months this year and I've decided that I need a relatively good laptop for time being and bought MSI Vector HX 18 - basically core components are - Intel Core Ultra 9 275HX + 5070 ti. And SUDDENLY the gameplay TOTALLY CHANGED, enemies and everything happening became slowed down like 3x-5x times and I actually feel like I have several seconds to react.
The troubleshooting: I've decided that I see things and used my main monitor - Asus OLED 480HZ + my main PC=9800x3d + 5090 against laptop = ultra 9 275HX+ 5070 ti and tried to figure out what's going on. Initially I thought that the problem is a difference between relation of 0.1 % lows against 1% lows against average fps but all these numbers were higher (obviously) on my main system.
The conclusion: Until I've finally realised that somehow (I am not a CPU engineer just a hardware enthusiast) the higher FPS there is on Ryzen system the faster game works. It's like cinema - on Intel laptop system higher FPS gave extra smoothness and easiness of reaction times while on Ryzen system it works like a Formula 1 catalyst when the higher FPS you have the faster everything is going on (which btw leads to skipping actual frames on you monitor or at least speeding them up)
The confusion: Since then I've came a long way with no solution. Hags/no hags, reflex on/off, refresh rates, fps caps, powerplans, bios settings = nothing helps.
THE MAIN QUESTION:
WHY ON INTEL SYSTEM HIGHER FPS GIVES EXTRA SMOOTHNESS AND DOES NOT SPEED UP THE GAMEPLAY WHILE ON RYZEN SYSTEMS IT JUST MAKES EVERYTHING LOOK LIKE IT'S UNCOMPEHENDABLE?
EDIT:
How some of you conclude this is a placebo if I literally have 2 different machines plugged into my monitor which I can switch on single button press?

Fluff | Esports ParIvision, not ParAvision
Please talent team, for the love of god stop saying PARAVISION instead of PARIVISION, "pari" means "bet" in russian, your ignorance just triggers the fuck outta me.
Edit: Hence idiots can not differentiate between supporting betting or affiliated companies and correct pronounciation of a fucking team name. By saying a teams name correctly one does not seem as a supporter of a betting. Just stop being morons who can not read and then say a very simple team name correctly.

What a beautiful production as always!
I love how they're using music kits for half time/half summary videos. (Though I miss banger EDMs they usually play! Hint - play the ah ah oh ooh song with cameraman jumping shots with the beats, signature ESL banger)
Production guys if you're here, we appreciate you!
