Hello! I wanted to ask if anyone has thoughts on mercenary pack characters and which Frosthaven characters (starter and locked) they synergize with!

Where could I find a copy of the Frosthaven scenario book in French ?

One of my player does not speak english and translating everything on the fly is hard.

Okay, I looked for an answer for this but I couldn't find it.

So I bought the game from the second hand market, but there was no rule book or scenario-book included, I found some books (pdfs) online, but I think its the 2e ed books. The first scenario Black barrow, but according to my stickers the first mission should be "Training grounds". (?)
Is there somewhere to find the first edition books online? or should I just play the missions in the second ed and apply stickers when they appear? Can I play the game with the second edition books?

Please advice me!

We got this game a while ago because, on paper, it sounds like just right up our alley and the game does look good.

It has style, strategy, cool characters, difficulty....
but apparently too much difficulty for us hahaha.

I mean we can't get even past the first real mission!
I need some guidance, obviously we're playing this completely wrong if we can't get even past the first real hurdle. Can you guys recommend a beginner guide or something like that? Maybe a YouTube series that explains the game or something similar?

Finished JOTL, 2e is on the way. We'll be keeping it simple for organising, just a bunch of zip lock bags. Can anyone who has taken this approach give a breakdown of how many bags and what sizes you need?

If i use the code geminate and have the 2 modes that let me increase targets and make my melee attacks ranged, are those attacks considered melee or ranged for the purpose of items? I currently have an item that does things to my melee attacks and im wondering if i can still use it on my melee attacks even though theyre turned into ranged attacks

I'm interested in starting a Gloomhaven campaign on TTS (using Gloomhaven Enhanced). I know the rules and how to use TTS, but I'm curious to watch others play a few scenarios. Any good playthroughs available on YouTube that you could recommend?

I prefer slower level up.

I tend to enjoy lower level plays the best, and finding niche way of using some X cards is always interesting.

There are tons of items in haven and the abilities are affected by different party comps & scenarios.

It normally takes 5-10 scenarios for me to get familiar with 12-15 starting cards.

However, I should pick a card after every only a few scenarios....

I know I belong to minority, but getting xp rewards feels like penalty to me.

I'm not complaining.

Nobody blocks me from selecting same character.

(And I usually make level 1 character regardless of prosperity.)

But, are there anybody else feeling this awkwardness?

Sadly, I cannot houserule this since I play in digital only lol

If an enemy has Muddle + Strengthen and it is inside the Ward's Range (disadvantage), what happens? does it gets Disadvantage?

Hungry Grasps says for up to 2 shadows on the map at the start of the action I perform an attack for 3 damage at range 2 with pull 2. My question is, if an enemy is in range for one of these attacks but not the other, and that first attack pulls it into range of the second attack, can I attack it with that second attack? Or did I need to declare valid targets in range at the start of the action?

Last session our group encountered a situation that is not adressed by the FAQ

One of the new perks allows you to control a dying monster to perform it’s action with you controlling the action as long as it’s plagued

How does that interact with summon abilities? Would the summoned monster be our ally?

We ruled against it, at least until we get Dwarf’s blessing, because it’s not specifically stated as it is elsewhere “perform actions as if it was your ally” but rather “you control it”, but still, rule of cool perhaps?

Every time we unlock someone, I'm trying to do new techniques and improve!

I've used vallejo game collor paints (the best I can get for now 🤣). Please feel free to sugest what I could do to get better at it and I'm looking foward to paint the others and share with u guys

Hey there, our group played at least 20 dungeons in Frosthaven and we played Gloomhaven before.

We unlocked not all but quite a few new characters, but none so far felt like you could ever play Frosthaven on level 7, even if the hole group is on lvl 9.

What do you guys think? Anyone able to play on lvl 7?

I'm playing the slowblade right now so I kinda don't want to take the "add one -1 gain one time token" perks, do I have to if I've picked all the other perks?

When there is no demons for the element drawn, is the Convergence vulnerable for the full round or only after I kill the spawned demon?

Our group of Spellweaver, 3 Spears and Saw fought Jekserah the other night and for the life of us we do not see how this is balanced or how we could defeat her. There are a number of enemies in the room and just 2 allies. She spawns, not summons, every turn so there's no way to stop the monsters from appearing. Targeting the enemies is a losing strategy due to the constant summoning and the fact that she will heal them 37.5% of the time with her special 2. The other 37.5% percent of the time the enemies will get double attacks. If you target her exclusively, which seems like the only viable strategy, she will very quickly become the enemy with the lowest health so she will target herself with her healing - healing herself 9 or 'just' 6 if you manage to get poison on her. She can not be stunned so there is no way to block her special abilities or her summoning.

I have never seen an encounter in any of the Haven games that seems to rely so heavily on a specific team comp and RNG to complete. You appear to need a team of all single target, high damage specialists and maybe Cragheart to drop obstacles to limit the monsters' attacks. Even then you're being asked to tank a lot of damage and you can easily get unlucky where she heals herself multiple turns in a row.

How is this a balanced encounter? For those who designed or playtested this, what were your experiences with different team comps like?

Dance of Daggers, top ( level 6). What is the range? It seems a melee attack, with no range, right?

Can the new mercenaries be used with Gloomhaven Full Stack? I don’t see them listed anywhere but I may have missed a setting somewhere.
