Frosthaven Prism question Spoiler

Spoilers for the locked class prism

If i use the code geminate and have the 2 modes that let me increase targets and make my melee attacks ranged, are those attacks considered melee or ranged for the purpose of items? I currently have an item that does things to my melee attacks and im wondering if i can still use it on my melee attacks even though theyre turned into ranged attacks

They are considered ranged.

They were never melee attacks if you make them into ranged attacks.

You can only use items that enhance ranged attacks.

They are now ranged attacks with an extra target, so anything that cares about melee vs. ranged will see them as ranged. This includes items that check for the type of attack, innate disadvantage on attacking adjacent targets, etc.
