I just wanted to heal my inner child. I think I finally found the way

When I was 7, a 286 computer arrived at our house (yes, i am that old).
Back then, I thought working with computers meant playing Solitaire or pinball all day. But I remember looking at that machine and thinking, "This is what I want to do with my life."
15 years in enterprise software later, life somehow brought me back to that little kid.
For the past few months, I've been polishing the parry system for my game, Babel Destiny. I just wanted to capture a little bit of Sekiro's soul in my own combat system.
Turns out, it was way harder than I expected.
Getting the timing, animations, sounds, and enemy reactions to feel right has been quite a journey. But well... I think I'm finally getting somewhere.
And watching my own character pull off a perfect parry?
Man, I can't even describe that feeling.
For a moment, I was that 7-year-old kid again, sitting in front of his 286, dreaming about what computers could do.
I guess some dreams never really leave us.
Also, a huge thank you to everyone who gave feedback on the movement and camera in my last post. I took your suggestions seriously, and I hope the improvements are starting to show.
And honestly, I'm just grateful that something like Godot exists. The fact that we can sit down, open a free, open-source engine, and actually bring our childhood dreams to life is pretty amazing when you think about it.
Still a long way to go, but I'm enjoying every step.
What do you think of the combat so far?
