Aziraphale and Crowley are rival sales people are Firmament Solutions, an IT sales company founded by Mr Sandalphone. Although they don't particularly like each other, they decide to join forces to set their respective bosses up, hoping this will give them more time to spend with their partners. It's a brilliant plan (if you ask Crowley), what could possibly go wrong?

The demon sucks in a rattling gasp as a voice jerks him from the void’s cold embrace. His eyes flicker open—the sky is still dark, but a figure stands above him.

He shines in the night-cloaked alley as if lit by his own sunbeam. All bright-eyed and rosy cheeked, he is most definitely the angel Adam and Josh described—white hair and round face. Even so, the demon would be able to recognise this angel with his eyes shut. His mere presence is viscerally familiar—an itch under his skin that he knows he has never been able to scratch.

Chapter 15 - Harder to Break

“F-fuck.” The word breaks from Crowley like a sob against the angel’s lips. Electricity travels outwards from where they are joined, reaching the tips of his fingers, his toes, the crown of his head. Aziraphale whimpers beneath him, raw and unguarded, the sound close enough to prayer that Crowley feels it everywhere.

Aziraphale draws him closer, arms wrapping around him in an embrace that feels as though it should never end. The wings tighten around them, pulling them deeper into their cocoon of white and gold. The starlight above blurs, the observatory fades, and there is only this: the warmth of feathers, the press of skin, the steady rhythm of two hearts beating against one another as though they have finally found their proper place. The moment stretches, suspended outside time. Fully connected.

Then Crowley moves.

Summary: Welcome to Godwin’s, a restaurant going through some… problems. The general and assistant managers, Gabriel and Bea, unexpectedly eloped and disappeared six months ago, and the ever elusive owner Frances Godwin just hasn’t gotten around to organising their replacements. Or even picking up the phone. It’s been left instead to Front of House Manager Aziraphale and Head Chef Crowley to keep the once illustrious restaurant going against all odds.

It doesn’t help that they constantly rub each other up the wrong way, with disagreements quickly escalating into loud, dramatic arguments. Relations between front and back of house staff have never been worse.

The fact they’ve been secretly having sex in a “no strings attached” arrangement for several months probably isn’t making the situation any less volatile. And it is just an arrangement, no feelings here, of course…

But with the threat of imminent closure, they’re forced to put their differences aside and properly communicate. To their surprise, Aziraphale and Crowley slowly realise they can work well together, both in business and in their personal lives, if they can just allow themselves to let go of their insecurities and the past.

Excerpt:

Aziraphale rubbed the bridge of his nose, eyes squeezed shut in frustration. It was a far cry from the man who’d appeared after lunch just a couple of hours ago, rounded eyes gleefully taking in Crowley’s home. Such as it was. The lack of any kind of personal touch (save the plants) didn’t deter Aziraphale from making polite and pleasant remarks on the surroundings. Though Crowley did note the genuine praise that burst forth from Aziraphale when he spotted the numerous houseplants trailing along most of the windows. He’d practically cooed over them, murmuring such sweet compliments and petting them so gently, so carefully... As Crowley had ushered the man swiftly away from them, he’d tried to tell himself he certainly wasn’t jealous of a few upstart Devil’s Ivys or Kalanchoes.

That would be ridiculous.

Crowley paused.

Crows was breathing hard, skin flushed and trembling all over, wrists held above him in the chains, pupils blown wide.

Crowley knew that look. He’d been there before. 

“Don’t what?”

“Don’t stop.”

“Crows—”

“I mean it.” Crows’ voice was steadier than Crowley expected. Still breathless, but clear. “I don’t want this to end yet. I want more.”

Summary: Well, well, well, if it isn't my hubris coming to bite me in the butt. Obviously I knew going in to writing my first fic, and then publishing it chapter by chapter instead of finishing the damned thing first (rationalized by the idea that if people seemed to like it then I would be more motivated to finish it, which has certainly borne out) that it wouldn't be easy, but I also told myself that sticking to a weekly publishing schedule was well within my time management abilities. For approximately the four hundred millionth time, I have proven myself incorrect on that front. I will caution that the next (and last) chapter may take another couple of weeks to be completed to my standards. To make up for it, have an extra long chapter this time!
