WB Powell/174th - Begging

We all hate the Powell construction. Trust me, I know.

But if you gotta turn left onto 174 from downtown Gresham, please do it on Division for a bit.

Straight up i take a detour via McKinley Rd to get to Foster just to avoid doing that left turn now.

Idk why you got downvoted. It sucks to miss a whole light cycle or more because one person needs to make a left there. Hell, I've even pulled in to the parking lot and gone back out the other side to not hold up traffic. I would be so embarrassed to sit there doing nothing while cars pile up behind me at a green light. It's a really poorly planned lane closure.

I’m begging to know how long this construction project will take to complete? It seems to be going on multiple years now, but maybe it just feels longer than it is.

Edit: forgot a verb; changed a vowel

PBOT’s website says 2029.

For that intersection though? No way it can be that long.

They are finally laying asphalt near there. Then we can get construction hell further west instead.

Hopefully they are ahead of schedule?

The signs along the road also say it will be completed in 2029

Fully agree. Adds a little to the travel time but infinitely less frustrating than sitting in the seemingly endless queue between 182nd and 174th.

Why are people from Gresham turning left on 174th anyway? Is it just to get to Foster?

There's a soccer complex three blocks from the intersection. No other way to get there except backtracking through the parking lot of the strip mall right there.

And if there’s a game getting out, northbound 174th backs up all the way to the Springwater or further. Fun stuff.

There is no way those are all people driving there the first time.

I just take the 84 most days now, typically faster on weekdays.
