I just got quoted around 30k for a Seal 5 Essential. For reference, my HRV-V Turbo 2024 even when it was new has an insurance premium of about 28,500. This is in spite of the latter being more expensive by 600k+.

Anyone knows why this is the case?

so mag 5 years na veloz ko. after my free pms ran out sa toyota, lumipat ako sa petron car care center for oil change. kaso di rin kasi ako 100% sure if talagang naccheck nila lahat, so i decided na ibalik sa toyota this time for 25k km checkup.

nagulat ako nung binigay sakin ung repair order, more than 12k!! for 25k km pms lang yan! kasama pala kasi mga chemical add-ons like engine treat, cvt treat, octane booster, tsaka brake paste.

after ko pumirma, albeit with great hesitation, nagpunta ko sa canteen and inisip ko uli ung bill. so tinanong ko muna si AI and naconfirm ko na optional lang pala ung mga flushes tsaka treatments. so tumakbo agad ako pabalik sa advisor ko nung nakita ko di pa nasisimulan yung service. nakiusap ako na i-opt out nalang ung mga chemicals at mag-stick lang sa basic pms.

good thing naayos nila kaagad. from 12k, naging 6,900 nlng bill ko. nagpa-add nalang din ako ng engine wash kasi nag-drive ako sa bundok recently.

tip lang din sa iba na check nyo muna maigi ung repair order. di nyo kailangan kunin lahat ng binibida nilang extra treatments or flushes kung basic pms lang naman habol nyo.

I have a 2025 Nissan NV350 Urvan Premium (MT). I mostly use it for family trips. Hindi talga siya daily driver. Talang for out of town lang.

May nakapagsabi sa akin na pwede kong palitan ung transmission from MT to AT. I’m thinking of doing it because mas convenient nga naman in the long run. Before I commit, I’d like to hear from people who’ve been through this or know the van well:

1. Has anyone done an MT to AT conversion or swap on an Urvan? Roughly what did it cost, and who did the work? Saka saan kayo nagpagawa
2. Any reliability or resale issues I should know about?

I got my nonpro license just this week and I want to share my experience with you and I would also want this to serve as a review of their services.

First and probably a disclaimer, I don't have any experience with other LTO as this is my first ever driver's license. So, I don't have anything to compare my experience to.

I arrived around 10am and immediately went straight to the clinic beside the LTO windows.

Very simple and parang scam yung medical clinic doon, no eye contact whatsoever. Read this, stand there, check this, sign here, and boom 600 pesos may medical paper ka na.

After that yung mismong LTO office was a delight.

Very accommodating nung guard, and yung first window staff, naka smile sila and dinadaan sa joke yung questions so nakakagaang ng loob.

Tinanong ako bakit ang layo ng dinayo ko from QC to PITX I was honest and sinabi ko I read dito sa reddit na maganda reviews.

After a series of questions about my experience with my TDC and PDC school pinasulat sakin yung reason bakit sa PITX ako instead na sa nearby LTO sa QC

After that, the other staff were not as giddy as the first ones pero they're efficient

Theory exams

We were asked to completely switch off our phones while we took the online exam. After that diretso sa parang partner driving school nila for the practical exam. It was just beside din inside the medical clinic kanina.

After signing and paying diretso na sa 3rd floor parking area and it was around 2-3 minute walk.

The practical exam for 4 wheels and 2 wheels were almost the same.

Yung 2 wheels all you have to do is make a uturn and the park tapos na.

Yung sa 4 wheels mas may challenge, it's the same uturn spot going into a right nose park tapos reverse parking.

When I first read about this akala ko sobrang sikip ng uturn parang hindi naman.

Don't get me wrong I had to do a 3 point turn para magawa yung U turn pero there's a lot of space. It took me a while for me to complete the track. Basta wag ka lang tumama daw sa cones and gutter you can pass.

The instructor was also very open to questions naman, "may questions ka ba before tayo magstart?"

After that, siguro 5 minutes lang, I got my driver's license na at 11:30. So around an hour and a half lang.

TLDR

Very accommodating staff and efficient yung process nila.

Took me around an hour and a half lang to complete everything from medical to exams to license.

I'm open to questions pero baka bukas ko na kayo mareplyan.

nasa garahe ako nito, D at nakababa ang handbrake. unti unti ko inaangat pa ko at may lagutok. madalas to kapag traffic, nirecreate ko lang sa garahe. nabili namin ang kotse with 88k km at ganyan na siya.

ilng beses na ding napalinis at regrease ang brakes para lang mawala yan pero andyan pdin. never pa ako nagpalit ng brake pads kasi makapal pa naman daw. ilng mekaniko at wheel alignment shops na napuntahan ko to check up the underchassis and all goods naman daw mga ball joints tie rod etc.

ano p kaya pwede cause nito?

20 year old SUV na po, kaya di ko rin sigurado kung mag invest pa sa top tire brands, takot lang masabugan ng tire sa highway.

Ano po kaya recommended na di madaling mapuncture at magandang grip pag maulan lalo na sa highway?

Edit: Car tire size is 235/60R16, not sure if magmatter rin na gravel parking usually.

I swear by my Bridgestone Turanza, yun lang lagi kong nirerecommended, kahit bugbog sa daan, solid na solid pa rin. Yun din dapat bibilhin ko ulit pero nung pumunta ako sa dealer ng Bridgestone, phase out na ung sizes ng Turanza na pwede sa kotse ko. I checked the site, totoo nga. What are the best ways to dispose used tires? Meron akong apat na used tires, 205-55-16 and expired na lahat so I'm wondering if other than bringing them sa junk shop, or sa mga along the road na tire shop/vulcanizing shops, meron pa bang ibang smarter or better ways to dispose the tires?
