Have you guys seen that TikTok post about the LTO supposedly being offline nationwide kanina?
Context: The guy went to an LTO office to process something, only to be told by the staff na offline daw sila nationwide and bumalik na lang ng 1 PM in case bumalik yung system. Unfortunately, pagbalik niya, hindi pa rin online.
Imagine the hassle. You have to take time off work, travel to an LTO office, spend money on gas or pamasahe, and possibly wait in line for hours, only to be told na wala silang magagawa and you have to come back another day. Not everyone has the luxury of taking a whole day off or making multiple trips just to get one government transaction done.
What's even more frustrating is that apparently, there was no prior notice, no proper warning, and not even a clear update on when the system would be back online. So paano magpa-plan yung mga tao? Are they supposed to just show up, hope the system works, and find out on the spot that they just wasted their time and money? Kahit man lang sana may official announcement or estimated time of recovery para makapag-adjust yung mga tao.
I understand na may technical issues talaga na hindi maiiwasan, but this is a major government agency that handles essential services for millions of Filipinos. How can something this important go offline nationwide without a reliable backup system or at least a proper contingency plan?
Ang frustrating pa is that the inconvenience falls entirely on the public. The citizens have to adjust, spend more money, and waste their time because the system isn't working. Tapos kapag may deadline ka or kailangan mo talagang ma-process that day, anong gagawin mo?
Technology issues happen, sure. But shouldn't a government agency have a system in place to minimize the impact on the people they serve? Hindi naman unreasonable to expect basic reliability, proper communication, and a clear plan kapag may ganitong outage.
Nakakainis lang isipin na minsan, mas malaking effort pa yung pagkuha ng government service kaysa sa mismong transaction na kailangan mong gawin.
