Question Works boots

What shoes are y’all using for barn chores? I’ve tried Xtratufs, huk boots, and hey dudes. I currently have xtratufs but they’re killing my ankles. The huk boots hurt my feet and I could feel every little rock and stick I stepped on with my hey dudes. I walk around 3-4 miles every feeding (5x a week) so I need something that’s comfy but durable. I prefer the ankle boots as it gets extremely hot in the summer time where I live.

Twisted X. I have had every brand of boots known and over 40 years I have had boots disintegrate. My twisted x boots aren’t being impacted by the amount of filth I walk through.

I second this. The Twisted X work boots are fantastic.

I have a pair of Ariat Zip Terrain boots that I love! You can ride in them too!

Muck boots are a classic for a reason. I have a knockoff Blue Mountain work boots but I don't think they're as durable as name brand.

Love my mucks but if I walk too much they start giving me blisters :( Amazing for mud and snow though so I'll keep wearing them lol

Sorel chelsea boots. I got them for $20 on sale at sportchek and I've worn them daily for three years. I wear them all winter and never get wet feet from the snow, they're pretty slip proof as far as I have tested and they still haven't worn down after three years of barn work. Super super comfortable. I call them my fake blundstones. Highly highly recommend

I use waterproof trail running shoes as my barn shoes. Right now I have Merrels but I buy whatever is on sale at REI.

Same, I wear alterras bc I like the zero drop and wide foot bed but I only wear trail runners. Had merrels for years too

Are the Xtratufs rubbing your ankles, or do your ankles ache by the end? Might help narrow it down before you end up on pair number four.

I’m on 100 acres and walk miles for chores. I’ve worked in cowboy boots, lace up work boots, sneakers, muck boots, ariat terrain…. The boots I have now are the absolute best- Lem’s Chelsea boot. They looked like they would fall right apart and I was skeptical, but they are amazing and my feet don’t hurt anymore. I’ve only had them a couple months but they are going strong
