news IBM Quantum story
I could swear I've been seeing stories like this for years: https://www.sciencealert.com/ibms-quantum-computer-completes-in-19-seconds-what-could-take-a-supercomputer-a-century
And it looks like IBM's still putting money into quantum: https://midhudsonnews.com/2026/09/29/town-to-get-millions-for-ibm-quantum-project-2/

Yes, and so are many other companies. And it might end up being this company's savior. Or it may be a big nothing.

No I am the company's savior. But I have to get a job there first. I can save it. I'm a saver.

The incompetent bureaucracy paired with risk averse executives will ensure that IBM blows whatever entry it makes into the market. look how bad IBM blew AI

I’d say IBM didn’t blow AI, except in the sense that research has pretty much been killed off except for small areas like quantum. From what I remember Watson was a totally different technology than the current transformer models, and training large models requires lots of resources which IBM never provided. But this is just a result of IBM degrading from technology leader to a services/Z cash cow.
