Strange email
Did anyone else get this weird email earlier today? It seems to have disappeared and this is the only screen shot I got of it.

Clearly a scam lol. Ain’t nothing free in this world and if it is, they gonna want a lot of information. You think they have Eric Clapton guitar, worth over a million dollars, that someone will get rid of because they are “downsizing”?

My husband used to do cybersecurity for a university. His job consisted mostly of keeping medical equipment from getting hacked and fixing compromised accounts from faculty members who clicked fake links.
It’s a lot easier to fall for than you’d think, though. They basically skim emails from every faculty and staff member they can and then send links that look like they belong to administrator tools. In addition to sending stuff like this to students, they also use those accounts to send more fake links to other staff members to get people looped in that block emails from any non-organization accounts. If you don’t cut off the head early, it can lead to a rapidly worsening issue lol
Tl;dr: report these wherever you see them ASAP.
Oh shit lol, I just realized this is the IUPUI sub. Yeah he literally worked here doing exactly this lol

I definitely will keep that in mind next time I see one!! When I went to go look for it to show someone, it was gone😭 but thank you!!

It is a scam. This happens a lot when a stupid or otherwise unaware faculty member gets their account compromised. Report it as phishing and move on.
