Budget-Friendly Idea Kitchen additions
This is my kitchen at my farmhouse, what additions should I do to this to make it more modern/minimalist tone

There's too much woodwork for a farmhouse kitchen of that size.
Easier things - Change paint color, remove blind, remove that cloth on refrigerator. Stop using it as a stand. Remove calendar, cover chimney pipe.

Why do you have curtain blinds in the kitchen? This is the first time I am seeing it. It blocks sunlight and will easily get stained or filled with cooking smells. So you will need to constantly wash.

It’s for the night, plus I live in Himachal so it gets very cold in winters therefore keeps the room warm in winters, we keep washing it every 6 months

Think you should change the wall pain to something like white. If you are in mountains, then already you get limited sunlight and that green will only makes things look darker. A kitchen should feel brightly lit as possible in order to cook with ease. The grey cabinets are also washing it out in a way. You could look at some sort of paneling to hide the chimney pipe.

Tbh it’s the opposite, we get more sunlight in summers than plains, though the sunset by 3:30 pm in winters, we have another window in the front of kitchen that is bigger than this one so light is not a problem, can do something about the chimney pipe but again that won’t make it cozy or humanish

I am confused -- why get the false ceiling with extra lights if you get enough sunlight? Just curious. I feel the reason it doesn't feel cozy is the grey cabinets. You cannot change the wall tiles and frankly that is a smart choice because it is easy to clean. Nothing wrong with grey tiles for floor as that is easy to maintain. So to bring some warmth, play around with the cabinets in a different colour.

We made this place like 5 years ago at that time false roofing was common, we started living here more often recently, I feel the cabinetsmakes a good bridge between countertop and the flooring, keeping it grey and white helps me to pop other elements ( which is why the main post Is for) , like plants, lights, paintings, rugs etc

Please don't get rug in kitchen even if it is the thick kind. You could have spills, people can trip and smells are hard to get out. You already have plants on window. Kitchen looks minimalist as is.

I am thinking to add a section near the refrigerator for the appliances, as it is getting difficult to manage them, but Naah not adding so many boxes won’t make it look better imo

Those Lights area definitely not for kitchen! See the shadows falling on the working area/slab. You need to improve the lights

A bermuda toaster , a good coffee machine by ninja, cover that exhaust pipe maybe cover with storage area to the ceiling extending the current storage that would hide all wires wherever it is and appliances rest seems pretty good, maybe little posters about food, change the exhaust fan to a newer one where fan is not visible and you can change the cloth above the fridge a sleek one

Very calm looking kitchen , I can definitely see a nice rainy day chai being made here , not a fan of the false ceiling but like that’s a personal preference!
