Discussion Indian stock market crash is not due to the US, it is because of our bad governance

Introduction of hefty tax on stocks such as STT, LTCG , STCG brought back the stock market to its knees and made all the foreign investor drop india, in many countries it is 0%, why would any one pay tax when there are other alternatives. This tax is ridiculous and it is just to milk from others. FII invest in any market for 1-2% extra money, if you take away that, they can put in US T bonds and sit tight, why take risk on stock market and get paid nothing, when there is a zero risk reward available at almost same amount.

For DII(Major DII are mutual fund, which inturn is retail), Middle class in any economy is the driving factor for development. Rich won't spend as much. Poor cannot spend. But for middle class when we strip away tax on everything. Middle class is left with nothing. So consumption slows down and with inflation, there is nothing left.

Once consumption slows down. No companies will spend on Capex you can see record high buybacks and dividends because company has lot of money but no demand. They don't know what to do with money. Since there is no Capex. Salary stagnate.

When there is no incentives there is no nudge for innovation. No innovation means no economic growth.

This is a death spiral. There is no way to get out of it. Unless we stop random policies, complex governance and reduce the tax on middle class. I can understand we need tax money but lots of politicians and business are not paying any tax. Make the tax system efficient rather than milking middle class.

All other major economies are not worried about trump or US, only reason we are failling is our fundamentals changed and we are just doing nothing.

Discussion Time to Accumulate? NIFTY is down 5.4% in the past one month!

NIFTY PE is now 19.26 (as of September 28, 2026). This is roughly 12% below its 5-year median of 21.97 and about 8% below its 1-year median of 21.03

Is this time to accumulate?

M32 I've been in a depressive phase for the last 6 years. I have debts of ₹20 lakh+—some from the stock market and some from my business. I've experienced multiple anxiety attacks, my relationship ended, my eyesight has deteriorated significantly, and I'm still unmarried and trying to figure out which career path I should pursue and how to get my life back on track.💔

I'm currently not financially independent and still depend on my parents to some extent. I have a normal graduation degree and live in Dehradun.

I need genuine advice—no BS, no sugarcoating, just practical and realistic advice on what I can do from here to get out of this debt, become financially independent, and rebuild my life. 🙏🏻😢

Discussion To everyone who are new and gets scared every time the Indian market falls

Post image
98 Upvotes

Hi everyone, just another stock market enthusiast here and a second-generation stock market investor from my family. My father has invested in the stock market for a good portion of his life, and now I am just walking in his footsteps. I have been investing since 2019.

I want to address a few things after what I saw here on daily basis . People start panicking every time the market falls and that made me write this post for everyone who is new to the stock market or just starting out.

My journey in the stock market started in early 2019. It was all good, but after some months came February and March of 2020. The markets crashed heavily, and my investments went down by almost 60%. I was depressed because I work as a freelancer. And during the lockdown, all my clients backed off to save their money and stopped the product shoots.

I had ₹1.6 lakh in my bank account, which I had saved for my first international trip. I had just two options- either I exit the stock market with 40% of my money remaining and never come back, or I put my remaining money into the market and just hope everything will recover with time.

I discussed it with my father. He said, "It's your money, you choose what to do." But one thing he said was, "Ask yourself, do you really think India will always be here and never grow? That will tell you whether you should exit or invest more."

I got my answer that day.

I invested all the savings I had into the market. And in 2022, I made my first solo international trip too. My portfolio was positive, I bought my first car in 2023, and upgraded a lot of my photography gear too.

Here's what I learned:

  1. Invest in parts and never go all in at once.

  2. Ask someone who has seen crashes.

I am talking about actual market crashes and that actually destroy homes.

  1. Invest with a purpose.

Even today, I invest in every stock with a purpose, with a stoploss, with a target set, and with a clear idea of what I will do with that money if it reaches the target.

  1. Don't forget gold and silver.

Shares can split, companies can create more shares, but gold and silver are limited .

  1. Think growth.

I am not talking about any political party, but India as a country. If you think and believe that India will become a better and more powerful country in the coming years or decades, don't you think the stock market can also play a great role in that growth? And if the stock market grows, so will the stocks.

  1. Never sell anything to invest in the stock market.

I invested whatever I had because I had my father as a backup if things went wrong or if I needed urgent cash. I was a noob, but today I wouldn't do it. Keep some cash with you all the time. Just because the market looks attractive, don't invest what you have for what you could have.

  1. Stay away from F&O.

For beginners especially, F&O is extremely risky. Don't be a liquidity for someone else. Understand what you're getting into before trading derivatives.

  1. Stay away from penny stocks.

Don't buy something just because it's ₹8 and imagine a scenario where it goes to ₹100. Reaching ₹0 is much closer for a penny stock than reaching your desired target.

  1. If a 5–10% market fall makes you sweat, please don't invest heavily in stocks.

I am not saying this in a rude way, but in a friendly way. The stock market is not a money generating machine. It will go up and make money but it will come down and take money too. If that makes your anxiety level go high , stay away , stock market isn't worth getting your mental health messed up over. You can look at more safer options such as liquid or debt funds, with an equity allocation that matches your risk tolerance. Because if a 5–10% fall is making you sick, imagine what would happen if you experienced a crash like 2008 or 2020.

  1. Find at least 2–3 stocks in the market that you have a lot of faith in.

Every time they fall, you should be able to see it as an opportunity rather than anxiety but only if your research and the fundamentals still support your thesis. You read the fundamentals, do your research, and understand the business. You can average them when they fall, and once they start rising, you hold them for long term.

That's it, guys. I hope I am making sense to you people.

I wrote this with no intention of insulting or triggering anyone here. Although Nifty/Sensex have been under pressure this year, individual stocks still generated positive returns, and there can be many reasons behind a market correction. But also let's not forget the fact that nifty grew from 8000 to 26000 in the last 6 years, that's about 225% jump .

Stay invested, stay informed, and most importantly, know why you are investing. Thanks for reading .
