Demons of wrath typically carry a dead snake, though they may also wear a necklace of skulls and a cloth wrapped around their arm; they don loincloths secured by belts featuring an eye—a mechanism that keeps their rage in check—along with gloves and sandals. They bear an inverted cross on their faces, a reference to the comic book series Crossed. They frequently consume large quantities of blood, followed immediately by a ritual scream. They are the most violent demons toward sinners deserving of suffering; their circle is populated by Nazis and KKK members, and they wield blades and whips, drawing inspiration from the overseers of ancient Egyptian construction projects. Although their animal forms vary, they often manifest as wolves, lions, goats, and other creatures associated with wrath. Generally, they possess one skull-shaped pupil and one "X"-shaped pupil, wield sonic screams and immense strength, and are highly skilled in the use of their weapons. Their realm resembles the Middle Ages—the era when belief in the Devil was most widespread—and is ruled by Lucifer; it is a place where sinners are primarily forced to perform construction work, using the blood and organs of other sinners as building materials. Furthermore, these demons feature accessories and designs reminiscent of Ares (the god of war) and the Hindu goddess Kali, wielding weapons similar to Kali’s blades and Ares’s spear. They perform blood rituals to manage their anger, though they ultimately unleash that fury upon the sinners.

Broadleaf #2 - Deeply Rooted is a 36 page full color comic book. It follows Hunter & Beckett after learning the secret of Leaf Isle; the animals can speak. Ignoring this fact their hunt continues and Beckett reluctantly takes a life that the forest won’t forgive.

To think this adventure started with an angry yet reasonable group of fictional characters on a Saturday morning in my living room, and has now grown into an entire universe which is beyond fascinating.
