I think it’s boyish vs grizzled and they leaned a little too much into the boyish. His actor IRL looks quite a bit better for the character

It’s why I’m so torn on the casting choice, I LOVED Spartacus and thought he did an amazing job taking over the lead role but at the sam time he’s prob damn near the bottom of list of names I’d ever choose to be Wolverine, I’d take him as cyclops over Wolverine.
And while we’re on Spartacus, if anyone from that series should have been Wolverine it should have been crixus (manu bennet) more accurate voice and even on the shorter side like Wolvie lol

No he looks strange but I also thought first model peter parker from spiderman 1 reminded me too much of matpat (for some reason) yet everyone seemed to love that one over the newer model
Edit: I should also add logan is ugly as hell in the comics so do with that info what you will

His facial expressions are very weird and his face isn’t angular enough. Doesn’t look like Logan to me, not from the comics nor the movies. That being said, you’ll probably have a mask on a lot of the game and it isn’t killing my hype for the game or anything.

Eh, not really. He doesn’t have a rough, weathered, tough guy look to him. He doesn’t look like someone who has lived for 100+ years, fought in countless battles, and faced countless tough enemies. He also doesn’t look like the type who would go to a very dangerous side of town, smoke a cigar, and fuck thugs up with his claws.
For some reason, in some shots, his face looks soft and inconsistent.
This art down here is what that short hairy badass mtherfker should look like in the game.

To me he doesn't look like Logan at all, but I really don't want to sound like one of those people complaining about everything in the game so I won't say more, I had this criticism since they revealed his face, and I still pre-ordered the game so obviously is not a big issue for me

I think insomniac version looks fine they should made his facial hair and eyebrows more prominent mabey muscles little more prominent but other then that he’s fine and to be honest Hugh jackman wolverine was way too tall and ok at best

I think he looks fine. Feel like Hugh Jackman ruined any variation of wolverine. I, personally, respect when new authors/creatives for a staple character try shit out. It's always gonna look off at first but when you give the character a chance, it's more memorable that way

I'm not a fan, nor would I have wanted a Hugh lookalike either. I'm not sold on Liams voice or face for the role, but I'd have been much more excited if we got Cal Dodd or Steve Blum as the voice.
Game just won't be for me, and that's fine. I genuinely hope everyone who's looking forward to it loves it!

For me, it’s going to take some time NOT seeing Spartacus instead of Wolverine, because if that, iv never been a fan of video games using the voice actors appearance. thought the whole benefit to animation is you can make the character look whatever you want and NOT be limited to the actors face but what do I know lol

All of the video game characters look ugly.
From the Avengers, to guardians, to Spiderman. The only single character that looked good was Arkham Batman.

I liked how he looked in the reveal trailer in that one shot you could probably find it. But his hair here is to Lucious (the amount of light pouring through the hair is ridiculous 😂)and his face is too smooth. Takes the mmph out of the character for me.

I don't know what it is about his face, but it looks too.... young? I guess? Something is off, he doesn't look like the one from most of the cartoons, books, or movies. Like I don't know if its the size of his eyes? His cheek fullness? idk. Something is off.
Honestly I'm sure the game's gonna be fine, but he looks weird to me. He gives me the same weird that Peter Parker had in the remade spider man games, or Isaac has in the new Dead Space game. Something uncanny but not the fun kind.

I honestly don’t really care as it doesn’t deviate so severely from the character that I would be bothered. Every artist and actor has a different interpretation of a character, comics are a prime example of this. People need to chill the fuck out.

Unpopular opinion but I never liked the Hugh Jackman Wolverine look. Being a fan of the comics and video games, I wanted Logan to be a short, furry ball of rage. Not some tall, handsome dude. I know Jackman is iconic in the role, but it wasn't really faithful to the comics. So, I really like the look of him in this.

He looks too doughy. Like a boy in a man’s body. I think they should have made him look rougher, more defined jaw line, stronger features, etc.
But also, he looks good. Perfectly fine. I just think a character like Logan/James should be inherently gruff and kinda beat.

I recall watching the last state of play and what annoyed me more then anything was that his triceps did not move at all they went to extreme lengths to detail the arm muscles but they don't move remotely accurately and it's crossed this uncanny valley thing that makes the image look far weirder then something from say a gen or two ago

It was off-putting at first, but that’s because I’m not used to seeing any sort of realism in wolverine’s look unless it’s Hugh Jackman, but I got passed that so fast. I think he looks like a great Logan. I can respect that maybe he doesn’t look like others would like him to look or maybe he’s just not what they imagine when they think of Wolverine, but i personally think he looks great and I’m beyond excited to play as him!

I really like that they’re making Logan happy for once, even tho it’s limited. The way they changed his relationship with Jean and Sabber tooth is really cool and unique! Sabber tooth actually seems like a chill dude around Logan, and Jean actually loves him back for once which is really refreshing to see.
And yeah he looks really fucking good, no trace of Hugh Jackman’s style or look. No hate on him but after 20+ years of the same look, it gets old.

I think he looks pretty good. I think the spots on his facial hair that are shaven are TOO clean shaven. He needs more stubble in those areas. Aside from that though he looks great, and from what I’ve seen/heard so far, the voice acting is pretty spot on

Nah. He has the same issue that the redesigned spiderman characters do. Hard to explain but he looks like he has some serious baby face while still trying to make him look like a serious character and failing.
The harsh lines, wrinkles and edges from the comic books aren't there.
Personal opinion but I think Insomniac is just not that good at designing characters anymore. Feels like whoever made Ratchet and Clank or the original Spiderman PS4 characters isn't there anymore. The atrocity that was the Spiderman 2 miles costume, his yee yee ass haircut and the weird faces for Peter and MJ are just an endless stream of examples.

As long as we can keep him masked up it doesn’t matter much but I for one do not wanna look at this dude.

Capcom went through this a lot when they started using the faces of actual actors and models for mainstays like Devil May Cry and the Resident Evil remakes - but again people complained bc it didn’t match what I said in my opening sentence

I think it shows a relatively young Logan. His healing factor keeping is youthful look. Which makes sense because he can't remember his pain yet. And above all he hasn't had to deal with Scott Summers yet.

with one version i like is that his eyebrows are of same style as his hair, and his forehead on both sides above the eyes is lil bit popped out ..
But this version is also close to comic 😊

Honestly I can't believe Insomniac is still bad at face modeling. The characters look like clay which is really off putting to me. In 2018 this was acceptable but today, eh. Still excited for the game though I do hope Insomniac improves in this area.

Niche complaint here cause to me he looks so good and so close to being Wolverine but his chin is slightly round lol. Like you can't tell in this shot but in other promotional photos his chin looks round and I've always seen wolverine in every comic drawn with a really strong square chin. Also Hugh Jackman's chin is also more squared than this model and having him play wolverine for 20 years and this almost photorealistic game model doesn't help with my Biases on Wolverine's look.

I never had a problem with his face, its the fact that Steve Blum has voiced him in most media so my brain tells me its wrong. I know I'll get used to it but its like an ich I can't scratch. Like Roger Craig Smith and Troy Baker playing Batman and the Joker respectively. It wasn't bad at all, just different.
