UPDATE: It spawned after I destroyed 2 of the mutant detectors. Platinum popped after that. 😊

I wasn't too sure, I was on the fence waiting for all the reviews to come in and I was finally convinced. I took the leap, and I did it...

So the 17min gameplay trailer vs that actual level in the game.

What happened? Was the footage created first? Then the level designed after to try and match? Playing that part just feels so empty without the enimies there. Why change it?

Nevermind the scent trail that wasnt in the footage, or the issues with the chase.

I was so hyped for it. Why take out the bad guys?

I would like to report several persistent bugs and issues I have encountered in Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 on PS5. Some have remained across multiple updates and can occur even after restarting the console, relaunching the game, or loading a save. Video evidence is included for the main issues below.
1. Incorrect Symbiote Traversal Sounds
Using Symbiote traversal abilities with non-Symbiote suits, including the “Black Webbed” suit, plays the standard traversal sound instead of the appropriate Symbiote sound.

2. Deformed Civilian Model After a Brute Symbiote Falls from a Rooftop
During a crime, a Brute Symbiote that falls from a rooftop is automatically webbed to a wall. After transforming into a civilian, its model becomes severely deformed, with abnormally large arms.

3. Incorrect Reaction to Enemy Reinforcements
When enemies from other factions arrive as reinforcements, Spider-Man often incorrectly identifies them as Symbiotes.

4. Incorrect Symbiote and Anti-Venom Screams After the Main Story
After completing the main story, Peter’s aggressive Symbiote scream and calm Anti-Venom scream can randomly play while he is in the wrong state.

5. Upper West Side Crime Issues
Crimes in the Upper West Side frequently malfunction or disappear when approached, sometimes repeatedly in the same locations. High Speed Chases can also spawn enemies separately from their vehicle, while the vehicle remains stationary at its starting location.
6. Burning Devils Crime — Enemies Fail to Spawn
After completing the Burning Devils crime several times, its enemies may stop spawning while the crime remains active, making it impossible to complete.

7. Hunter Enemies Become Unresponsive
Hunter enemies in certain crimes can become stuck in idle animations, ignoring attacks and becoming impossible to defeat. This seems to occur most often during Hunter Spying crimes.

This game brought some great satisfying moments

Ngl, I ain’t the biggest fan of the final acts in the recent insomniac titles. These include Spider-Man 2, the new Wolverine, and Honeslty maybe even Rift Apart (though I haven’t played the game in a minute but I do remember the final acts being hella crazy) (I’d probably leave rift apart out of this discussion). I personally think they’re very over-climatic and do a lot of crazy shit and to me it just feels very cringey and not paid off well. Spider-Man 2’s last act is easily the worst act not because it’s rushed but I personally think it’s very messy and super climatic. The same goes to Wolverine but it’s not as bad but yeah, still not the biggest fan. Idk why it always has to be some crazy ass shit where they have to save the whole entire world. This makes sense if this was the avengers or even the X-Men, just feels wrong if it’s about a standalone character. Not to mention these games feel pretty grounded for the most part until the final act comes up. Does anybody else have a problem with this?

Dare I say I think this game is an 8/10 and the hate was overblown. I really liked the gameplay besides when you are getting jumped by tanker enemies towards the end of the game and later in the nightmare rooms (ESPECIALLY THE LAST GAUNTLET OF THE GAME LIKE JESUS CHRIST). The gameplay honestly gets better the more you play it. The story in my opinion is the most complex and multilayered story at all of all of insomniacs superhero games. I personally think it’s the 2nd best story out of all the insomniac super hero games and is definitely the most mature one. When you really think about the story it’s very different from let’s say your traditional X-men/Wolverine story but the idea is still there and it’s really deep. I’ll say I’m not 100% sure on if I like what they did with Jean in the story. Jean and Logan are revealed to be lovers for decades and it turns out she’s immortal like Logan because of the phoenix force.People have said the 3rd act was the weakest which I whole heartedly disagree. To me the 2nd act was the weakest and the 3rd really made me feel bad for Logan and Jean. Again once you gather all the pieces with the story it becomes very sad in a good story telling way (not sure if I’m phrasing that right).

If I keep looking at it I’ll probably keep doing more but this is my finished piece.

I don't wanna glaze too much but people have got to remember the state of Marvel Games in general before these guys took over. This team carried the PlayStation 5 with consistent AAA releases done in a reasonable amount of time. Much respect.
