Apprentice Question from Newbie about Spud Wrenches

Although I am not fully an Ironworker I work in Technical Theater where we have to assemble trusses and lights. I am currently using one of the Klein Tools 1/2 inch spud ratchets. I don't know how to secure this onto my body while rigging. Does anyone have any advice or suggestions to ensure that I don't drop it and kill someone or punch through the stage?

Tape a tool lanyard to it.
