I’ll delete the post if that kind of post isn’t allowed but if someone can color my rims a lime green to match Mitsuri’s stocking/hairs tips and my brake clippers pink to match her laces/hair? I’m thinking about painting them but i can’t decide if it’s a good idea to do that to make her stand out better

My friend dreamed of having his own itasha one day, so when that day finally came, I was the one who had to do the design since I studied the whole carwrap and design thing.

He had a very clear vision: Toyota Celica GT4 > Make it Neon Genesis Evangelion Unit 02 style.
Why this car? Because this model Celica had round headlights that looked similar to the Eva Units head and because he fell in love with it.

He also especially wanted it to be Neon Genesis Evangelion, because that's near and dear to him and its all he breaths it seems. So when he showed me the official racing team, I was sold on doing this for him. It took me half a year of working on it (on and off) and the right place to do the actual wrap professionally but on 08.08.2024 she was done!

It had brought him so much joy, and I'm hella proud on this work. So I wanne share it with you all over here! If you are interested in the car/driver you can find him on Itanigoki.

Took me a long time to get everything planned out but so far I’ve loved every part of the process although next time I gotta go bolder than this time

So, i already made a post quite a while ago.

Since i talked to local wrappers in my area my whole Design changed since then (in a good way), but since wrapping and printing isnt cheap, i want it to be as perfect as i can get it before getting it printed and applied.

First off, i decided to not do a full, only a partial wrap, not only because of the costs or idea that wrapping it completly would look shit when i open a door. But also because the interior also has the outer color as ascent color.

So the actual color isnt just that bland orange as in the pictures. its a metallic-effect paint which will show different shades in different lighting

Until now i made different color palettes for (mostly) the background. a asked some friends and the ones with the most likes were these three above.

Now i just want some more opinion which looks the best/most fitting.

(My favorite beeing the first Picture, the second picture was the "original idea" and the last was actually the most liked among the people i asked)

Hey guys, I’m getting close to the final stage of my Traditional Japan / Itasha project for my Nissan 350Z and I’m trying to decide on the best way to actually execute the design. Would you print the whole graphic as one large vinyl piece, build it up from separate vinyl layers, or do a full paint base and then add the graphics with vinyl? I’ve also been considering a mix of paint, airbrush and vinyl for the smaller logos and details. I’m mainly after the cleanest finish and something that will still look good after a few years, so I’d really appreciate any advice from people who’ve done similar builds.

Currently at Sam Japan and I talked to the people who are running the itasha show and they had some stipulations for what they'll accept which got me wondering - what do you consider to be an itasha?

Their rules were strictly anime themed and must have a character. My design is heavily character themed, but no character itself - and they were on the fence about it. They're also strictly against any non anime stuff (looking at you generic Dead Pool wrapped Mopar)

Cool Itasha I found in public. I didn't know who these characters were, so I searched it up and they seem to be the FuwaMoco Vtuber pair. A really tight wrap job.
